I
am tying the four eclipse events together this year since I was not
able to find the time to report on the eclipses in the Spring.
Charts are included at the

Lunar Eclipse -
Virgo 24° - Penumbral 113 8S
The first lunar eclipse of 2006 is best viewed from Africa and Europe.
This lunar eclipse is from the Lunar Saros Series 113. It is one of the
oldest active lunar eclipse Series dating back to April 29, 888. It
began in the sign of Scorpio at 13° 27'. This heightens the
emotional intensity while creating alternating levels of emotional
apathy and abrasive energy in all the eclipses of the series. As most
anyone can attest, the energy from this eclipse has felt tense for
close to a month now. The Virgo lunar eclipse is presented with astute
instincts although a bit introverted on the surface. The Solar Eclipse
that follows adds more tenseness to this pair as the Virgo, although
headstrong, is a less confident energy in the wake of the Aries Eclipse
to come. Finding a way to turn the anxiety filled energies into
eagerness for a challenge strengthens this pair and actually activates
a sense of adventure in the eclipse events by reducing some of the fear.
The transition of the Lunar Nodes from Aries into Pisces indicates the
beginning of the new shift. Since the Nodes are always retrograde
through the signs of the zodiac, The entrance of the Nodes into Pisces
every 18+ years is similar to the Sun moving into Aries every
year. A new beginning and a new session of Eclipses. When the
Nodes move into Pisces, the Moon's declination throughout the year is
at the most extreme in its latitude inclination and orbit. To summarize
this lunar eclipse influence (as best I can), we are in the throws of
transition. We are having a difficult time finding any sense of balance
as the ship seems to be rocking and lurching in the stormy waters of
change. We can't seem to help but feel a sense of fear, dread and
trepidation. The Pisces inclination is to hide while the Virgo trend is
to complain loudly that there is too much chaos here. Neither action is
wrong or right. For the most part, these actions are merely useless
this time around. If we can take our cue from the Aries solar eclipse,
we need to look for our sense of adventure in this period of
adjustment. Impulsive actions may not help us. Instead, facing the
future with courage and enthusiasm can soften those edges of fear. If
we are going down with the ship, is it better to act with valor and
bravery by doing all that we can to "save the ship," or is it better to
cower in a broom closet and anxiously assess our losses? You make the
choice that fits your needs the best!

Solar Eclipse - Aries 8° - Total 139 8N
The first solar eclipse of the year is a total eclipse visible from
restricted group regions although it travels across half the earth. The
trail starts in Brazil, extends over the Atlantic, over North Africa,
then central Asia, and ends in Mongolia. You can see the "map" below
that shows the path in red. Remember to use safe view practices.
Ordinary sunglasses will not protect your eyes from the rays.
This Solar Saros series #139 belongs to the 8N Eclipse family. The
front page tells more about times and locations. The originating
eclipse was May 17, 1501 (corrected to May 27, 1501 in our calendar
system). The Eclipse occurred at 4° 51' Gemini and many of those
influences from the original eclipse carry over into the current
eclipses of Saros 139. The energies of Mercury's intellect and the
Moon's sensitivity are combined to create an instinctive drive that is
logical even without much thought. Saturn and Mercury were also in
Gemini at the time of this original eclipse, adding to the urge to
communicate effectively and concisely. Comprehension at the most basic
level is the theme of the Solar Saros 139 eclipses.
This solar eclipse occurs in Aries, blending an action-oriented purpose
to the energies. We have our sights set, and are willing to give up on
other projects that may no longer hold our interest. With the Trine to
Saturn Retrograde in Leo, we lose the edge that this would normally
bring. We are not as focused as we should be. The Sextile to Chiron in
Aquarius does have a healing quality to it though. If we can tap into
some patience and regroup or at least make definite decisions on some
of the older projects, we are likely to learn why we have given up
before heading in a new direction. Not that the new direction is
inappropriate, but more that we need to comprehend why the other did
not work before taking on new projects so that we don't simply repeat
non-productive patterns in the process.
What we are lacking in this solar eclipse chart is the element of
Earth. We may not be getting the necessary ground or stability that we
need in order to see the "big picture." We have these great ideas, and
loads of motivation. But are we being realistic in our choices? That
will be lacking for the next three weeks, so we really do need to make
certain to add that concept into our choices when evaluating our
options. We will, undoubtedly, be granted many great options. Making
the right choices will be the difficult task during this New Moon
Eclipse!

Lunar Eclipse -
Pisces 15° - Partial 118 8N
The second lunar eclipse of the year is not one of the better viewing
events for lunar eclipses. At its best, it is viewable from most of the
eastern hemisphere but not from the western hemisphere and in
particular is not timed for viewability from the North Americas.
The lunar eclipse is never an easy or straightforward energy to
explain. The potency of this Eclipse is minimized by the fact that it
is partial and not total. However, it is accentuated by the fact that
it is in opposition from the origination of this series. This lunar
eclipse is Saros 118 and began in March 1105. It is past the total
stage of its particular series and is fading into the partial eclipse
stage and then the penumbral as it eclipses every 18+ years. The last
time the 8th family was around was in 1988. The next time will be 2024.
This particular series began in the sign of Virgo under the Decan of
Capricorn and the Dwad of Aries. Like a natal chart, that is the energy
that influences us each time this particular lunar eclipse returns.
We can easily see that this lunar eclipse chart is not well balanced.
The predominance of energy in this chart is Feminine. This can be a
difficult energy to espouse for people who are action-oriented and
"free-will" based. We generally like to be the "do-er" and not the
"do-ee." Yet the chart does have some Masculine-placed heavy hitters
(Saturn, Pluto, Chiron and Neptune), so we may do just fine in the end.
And Mars will be making the leap soon enough into Masculine territory.
We're also a tad short on Air and totally without Cardinal influences.
So, even though the lunar eclipse energies on the approach has caused
us to feel unsteady and even somewhat scared, we need to keep our wits
about us. Remember that the change is because it is time to happen.
It's time for an adjustment in emotional or physical or even in
psychological perspective. You don't have to like it for it to happen!
But the inevitable truly is all that.

Solar Eclipse -
Virgo 29° - Annular 144 8S
The last eclipse of the year is an annular solar eclipse. The trail of
the Moon's shadow will begin in the northern region of South America
but it will culminate into the annular over the Atlantic Ocean. A
partial eclipse should be visable from some eastern regions in South
America, the Caribbean, portions of western and southern Africa, and
the northern portions of Antarctica. See the map below for the
September 22 eclipse path in blue. Remember to use safe view practices.
Ordinary sunglasses will not protect your eyes from the rays.
This solar eclipse originates as the Saros 144 from April 1736. It
originated in Aries with the Decan and Dwad both in Sagittarius. The
three combined fan the Fire element energies that continue to burn
within all the subsequent eclipses of Saros 144. Aries is a
Cardinal Quality that adds energy and initiative. The 0 - 1 degree of
the Cardinal signs are known as the Cardinal Point which also
intensifies the Cardinal energy. Libra is a Cardinal and this
Eclipse is leading into the Cardinal Point of Libra. That is one of the
reasons that Virgo 29 is so sensitive, because, in essence, it is part
of the Cardinal Point within 1 degree. The influence of the Sun on the
Anaretic degree (29th) of Virgo seeks to change the course of events by
making them right. Virgo, typically, does not like the fuzzy concepts.
The pressure of this point in the zodiac is compounded by the solar
eclipse's event occurring at this degree. The intensity could
feel overwhelming to some. But for most people, it should feel
liberating at some level.
The eclipse meets up with the placement that Mars was at two weeks
ago. This end of the Virgo event meeting up with the Mars in
lunar eclipse transit also adds attention to the event as a carry over
from the lunar eclipse. We may be expected to change direction at
a moment's notice. Don't let it become a rattling of our chains that
distracts us, but do be ready to take a moment out of the decision
process to actually do some research. If it looks too good to be
true, it probably will not be what we had hoped for. We simply must
take responsibility for our own actions and our choices no matter what
someone else has promised us.
