Sun is Libra, 23° 14'
Moon is Aries, 23° 14'
The Full Moon in Aries is similar the mid-point of the zodiac calendar in that it only occurs while the Sun is transiting in Libra, the beginning of the second half of the zodiac. This full moon is also a supermoon, in that it appears larger on the horizon (if the clouds allow for visibility). Weather has been hitting the Americas quite hard the past few weeks, with Hurricane Matthew's destruction beginning during the new moon two weeks ago with the Atlantic region and now Typhoon Songda in the Pacific regions. A moment of reflection and prayer for all those whose lives have been impacted as a result of these storm systems.
The Moon moves into a conjunction with Uranus retrograde in Aries while the Sun opposes from Libra, pushes on us to deal with sudden changes. Our coping strategies are tested in ways we may not have ever encountered in the past. These are moments of learning. How could we have dealt with the situations better? What did we do right in the moment? What can we do to fix that which has been damaged? These are all questions many of us may need to look back on to help us be better prepared for future events. In the meantime, the sudden events could, potentially, hit us hard and rock our worlds. This is a chart that is less than balanced, with a strong chance for change, either due to nature, or man-made.
Mercury in Libra is square to Mars and Pluto in Capricorn, and sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius. There may be a loss for words, or a loss of tact in the way we approach situations during this full moon. There may also be a quick formation of judgment without considering the truth. We may need to step back to re-evaluate before making a final decision. Hopefully, in the meantime, we don't jeopardize relationships in the process of our quick, gut, reactions.
Mars and Pluto's conjunction in Capricorn is receiving a squared aspect from Jupiter in Libra. Jupiter is not conjunct with Mercury, but may be fueling the psychological interactions of Mercury's square to Mars and Pluto. This connect has the potential to push us over the cliff of self-destruction. Our behaviors may not reflect our usual reactions as we feel pressured to make a choice; any choice. Mars is moving through a sextile to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. While this would normally take us behind the scenes, the retrograde of Neptune tends to pull back the veil for all to see. It's a bit more transparent than we would like. We may not realize that others can see our true motives or true intent. We may not like that feeling as it can cause us to feel vulnerable and open for attack.
Jupiter in Libra is moving into a sextile with Saturn in Sagittarius. Jupiter rules in Sagittarius, and this may cause some issues with Saturn's transit as Jupiter may take the upper hand in how Saturn's energies play out. Some of the "practical" approaches may come unhinged. On the positive side, this may open us up for different options and perspectives.
Saturn in Sagittarius is square to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. This is still the fear and paranoia connection. We don't like being this vulnerable and we may over react, ultimately revealing more than we intended.
The next new moon in Scorpio is during Halloween and the holy days following. This full moon will be leading us to that new moon's new path for us. Overall, there is a desire to push through situations that are foreign to us. Our sense of control is undermined by sudden change. The chart is heavy with Cardinal quality placements, that all are competing to be in command, while each has a different idea of what that control should look like within our situations. The internal and external forces may be stronger than we are accustomed to dealing with.
Meditation for the October 16th Full Moon
Trust someone not for what they say, but because, like a bridge, you can venture out on them without fear of collapse.
