The Solar Eclipse of April 19 originated on May 15, 850 from the Northern Hemisphere and this is its 65th eclipse of the series. It is identified as Saros Series 119. The final solar eclipse for Series 119 is calibrated to be June 24, 2112.

The Lunar Eclipse of May 4 originated on May 10, 1427 from the Southern Hemisphere and this is its 33rd eclipse of the series. It is identified as Saros Series 131. The final lunar eclipse for Series 131 is calibrated to be July 7, 2707.

The combined influences of the Solar Eclipse in 29º Aries followed with the Lunar Eclipse in 14º Scorpio is tense since the combo does not provide a cohesive melding of energies. The Aries to Scorpio nature is likely to feel stifling or smothering because the creativity of either sign is not permitted to flourish. The theme of the combination involves the Spirit. Since spirit can mean many things, the lesson carried with this Eclipse pair appears to involve the spirit of self expression or self-esteem dealing with trust issues. Many people try to purchase their ideal of trust through material possessions, failing to comprehend the need for balance between the commingling of the spirit with the need for comfort and security from deep inside the self. Either side can be pushed to the extreme, to the loss of the other. The influence from the original Solar Eclipse in the year 850, provides a cautious and precision oriented nature, while the original Lunar Eclipse in the year 1427, is passionately determined to find the truth. Although, the truth may be hidden very deeply due to the fears that the revelations may upset the applecart.

Eclipses always occur close to Nodes, adding in the karmic effect to the activities. Both the original Solar chart and the Lunar chart were formed while the North Node was in Taurus. This adds emphasis to the need to trust in the self without pomposity or exploitation. The original energy of the charts carries over into the current Eclipses. Since the South Node was in Scorpio, there may be a natural inclination to try to hide from the truth for a variety of reasons. However, the nature of the South Node takes us away from the true goals and we are unlikely to gain the dharma that the North Node presents to us. Since the Lunar Eclipse Moon was in Scorpio, we could unconsciously be drawn to the retention of past hurts, guilt feelings or jealousy without understanding the "whys" or "whens" associated with these feelings.

The April 19 Solar Eclipse chart forms a Square aspect from Mercury and the Sun to the original chart's Neptune. This could impede our ability to think logically or to discern fact from fiction. With the Mercury Retrograde in effect at this time, it adds to the miscommunication factor. However, if we allow time for daydreaming or creative mental loitering, it could be a productive time, in a round-about way. Just don't neglect other responsibilities, even if it feels like too much to deal with. Venus is forming a Sextile to the original Venus placement. Relationships developed during this Solar Eclipse could be rewarding, in the long run. There may even be some material gains made as a result. Mars is forming a Conjunction to the original Mercury placement. Quick, assertive thinking is the likely result from the aspect, or pushy, aggressive attacks may show up. If there are legal matters that should be attended to during this Eclipse, this may give an upper hand in getting the matters dealt with. Plus, there's the Mercury Conjunction being formed to the original Saturn placement. This could be a "no-nonsense" skeptical energy. Although, since Saturn's placement was in Aries, there's a bit more of a leadership tendency with this transit. The energy becomes more productive after Mercury turns direct.

While Mercury is forming that Conjunction to Saturn in the original Solar chart, it is also forming a Conjunction to Venus in the original Lunar chart. This indicates a good time to communicate (after Mercury turns direct) to get our true feelings across to others. The peak energy of this aspect will be felt during the Lunar Eclipse. An excellent time to expand on those Creative Daydreams that you were working on during the Solar Eclipse. Mercury is forming a Square to the original Jupiter placement in the Lunar chart. Long range ideas initiated at this time are actually quite productive since this influence gives us the added oooomph to get to the end. Don't be lazy about the details, since they are just as important as the goal. Venus is forming a Sextile aspect to Venus and Mars in the original Lunar chart. Romance gets a boost from these aspects. Interactions between genders are highlighted, even if its for financial, or even just for general friendship, reasons.

These are the influences that will naturally be carried over into the Solar Eclipse chart of April 19 and the Lunar Eclipse chart of May 4, 2004.
