Sun is Pisces, 0° 42'
Moon is Virgo, 0° 42'
The Sun entered the sign of Pisces yesterday evening, and the Moon has just moved into Virgo, opposing the Sun's ingress. The point of ingress, as the planet transits over the cusp, is typically a rough period. We are in a state of transition from one type of mindset to another. Pisces encourages us to express ourselves outwardly towards those we care the most about. This is commonly a time of caring, physically or emotionally, for those who need our assistance. The moon's opposition from Virgo can sometimes present as a time of tension, because we also need to be taking care of ourselves, inwardly. It can be difficult to balance our needs with the needs of another.
This full moon is a supermoon (transit is closer to Earth). The full moon in February is known as the Snow Moon, or some North American indigenous tribes referred to it as the Hunger Moon, based on the scarcity of food at this time of the year. It is forming an out-of-sign wedge aspect with Uranus transiting over the anaretic degree of Aries. The full moon is also forming an in-sign wedge with Mars in Taurus. These two added aspects from the full moon are not meshing well for us, as we try to adapt to changes and expectations. Mars in Taurus is likely to push us to seek solace and sanctuary in places we considered to be our comfort zones in the past. While Uranus in Aries, edging to the cusp of Taurus, is forcing us to think outside of the box to find solutions to potentially tense situations. There is also the potential for a heavy shift in money matters. At this point, it is difficult to tell if it will help us or not.
Mercury has just skipped over Neptune in Pisces, and the two of them are making some interesting aspects to a variety of other planets. The Mercury/Neptune conjunction is sextile to Venus and Saturn, conjunct in Capricorn. The blending of all these should prove to be quite interesting. Mercury conjunct to Neptune in Pisces tends to raise our awareness of some psychic-like abilities. Simultaneously, Venus conjunct to Saturn in Capricorn provides us with some solid skill building/talent developing traits that we can expand our abilities in a variety of areas that should help us to get noticed in the social or career areas of our lives. Tying the Pisces and Capricorn influences into these two areas, can truly change our lives. Now is a great time to keep a journal of all the changes we begin to notice so that we can expand on them more fully for the next new moon.
Mercury and Neptune are also square to Jupiter in Sagittarius. Jupiter's expansion on the Mercury/Neptune conjunction may hit us harder than we would expect. Be aware of others who might misrepresent themselves as having the ability to help us out of a serious situation. While we may want an easy fix, there are always strings attached that have the potential for significant harm. If we are told that we must make a decision today, then that's a clear indication that we are being duped. Wait at least one week before deciding. Do the research necessary, whether it's a thorough background check, or internet research on the program/individual offering to help. Taking the week to check could save us considerable money and headache.
Venus is moving into a conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn. As Venus moves through Capricorn, we are likely to feel as though we need to tighten up our security and social status, be it at work, or online. Pluto's conjunction with Venus during this time is likely to expose us to some of the darker, seedier aspects of these areas in our lives, causing us to wonder if we can find any sense of security at this time. Do not be so quick to share personal information. Others may end up using the information against us at a later date.
On occasion, we will throw in Chiron's transit in the report, although not consistently. However, yesterday, Chiron moved back in to Aries now, and for the long haul, with no more trips into Pisces for a very long time. We may feel the cutting edge of the Wounded Healer, moving into the sign of the Ram. Aries pushes us to be independent thinkers and action takers. This desire can sometimes conflict when we are trying to heal old wounds. Try to balance the personal desires while understanding our true needs.
The other challenging area of this chart is Uranus slowly moving to the edge of the Taurus cusp. The push through the last vestiges of Aries by Uranus has been slow, and almost painful. Uranus will move back into Taurus on March 6.
Reminder also that Mercury will station for retrograde motion on March 5. Wrap up those legal contracts, real estate transactions, plane tickets, and Mercury-ruled etc, within the next two weeks to minimize the retrograde affects.
This is the last full moon in winter (northern hemisphere). For many in the US, spring can't arrive soon enough. Hang in there. The southern hemisphere has been dealing with an extra warm summer that is also wearing on people. This full moon chart reflects instability in our decision-making process. The chart is heavy with feminine receptive placements. For some of us, we may feel as though we are suffering too much for the causes that have been thrust at us. There are few Fire element placements and no Air element placements, adding to our feelings of frustrations. We feel stuck or weighted down with this full moon's transit. We will be expected to own our actions and find our own solutions. We can do this. Our strength is renewed through our faith, free-will and determination.
Meditation for the February 19th Full Moon
It has been said that, "Discretion is the better part of valor."
