Sun is Leo, 1° 26'
Moon is Aquarius, 1° 26'
As we head into the next 28 days that will experience two full moons in Aquarius, this first one is so very appropriate after the past few weeks of the news about the Delta, Lambda, and Gamma variants of the Covid-19 virus. Aquarius heightens our awareness of societal networks and all things science-oriented.
First off, during the new moon, I added the inconjunct (quincunx) aspect to the new moon chart and asked our newsletter recipients if they would like to have me do more moon event articles that include this aspect. Several of you wrote back that you would, because they have the inconjunct aspects or a quincunx yod in their own charts, and want to learn more about how it plays out in everyday life. So the blue line on the chart below will show where the inconjunctions are between planets. Some consider the quincunx aspect to be a minor one, while others consider it to be a major aspect. Regardless, the orb will only be 2.5 degrees (2 degrees and 30 minutes) to keep it tight and relevant to the current events.
This full moon in Aquarius is the Buck Moon, representing the Native American season of the bucks (deer) developing their antlers prior to fall. The Sun has just ingressed to Leo, where is it "at home" in the zodiac. Our minds tend to lean towards fun, loyalty, focus on our children, our creative side as well as our risk taking side.
While the sun is opposing the moon, it is also inconjunct to Jupiter retrograde in Pisces. This aspect will challenge us to think about our interactions with others who are involved in large institutions or organizations. For some of us this might be our work place, while for others, this might be a family member hospitalized or in a care facility. This interaction is likely to have a strangeness to it, because the dynamics may not be all that clear, but we will know that we need to be involved at some level.
The moon in Aquarius is also forming its own inconjunct with Venus in Virgo. Venus ingressed Virgo on July 22. This one is more likely to involve one on one interactions with others at work, or personal medical conditions that are confusing to our medical providers. In an other area of our lives, if we feel the need to clean out a room of old items or donate items from our closet, we may want to wait a day or two. This can be one of those times where we give away something of value, unintentionally. Venus opposes Jupiter, and this ties the two inconjunct sun and moon in with Jupiter and Venus in obscure ways that could befuddle us.
The moon is Out of Bounds (OOB) again during this full moon but is quicking heading back in bounds to the high declination for about 12 hours, then we will feel less emotionally vulnerable. The OOB began on July 21, and we tend to experience events that cause us to feel insecure. Events like extreme weather conditions, earthquakes, wildfires, etc, tend to exacerbate our insecurities. Or if we have recently survived a catastrophe, we may feel triggered during the OOB.
The other major planet that is adding to that feeling of vulnerability is Mercury which is transiting in Hidek (high declinations) through tomorrow. The Hidek became most extreme (high) after July 15, and our logic, communication, and travels were most likely to take a hit as a result. Add in the fact that Mercury in Cancer is forming a wedge pattern (opposition, trine and sextile) with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces. These are all interacting in a way that causes us to adapt to new ways of handling problems. We don't want to change our perspective - we are forced into it, but in the long run, it is probably for the better. Look also at the Mars to Pluto retrograde inconjunct that ties back into this wedge.
Mars, in Leo, truly enjoys taking on the leadership roles that seem to spring up out of nothing. Mars is forming an out of sign opposition to Jupiter retrograde in Pisces. As soon as Jupiter moves into Aquarius on July 28, this will be a short-termed in-sign opposition, until Mars moves into Virgo on July 29. For now, this opposition is watered down, so to speak, and not as powerful as it could be. Be careful not to walk/talk over others as they are likely to push back in unexpected ways. Mars is inconjunct to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Interactions with authority figures may not pan out well. Now is not the time to verbally express our displeasure unless the point we are attempting to make is that we are not in control of the situation. While any negative repercussions are likely to be worked out, the long term consequences may not be a positive experience.
Saturn retrograde in Aquarius is square to Uranus in Taurus. We seem to be struggling enough as it is with Saturn in Aquarius. Throwing this square from Uranus in is like adding salt to our unhealed wounds. We thought we were working with our own past issues, only to realize today that there was one or more that we probably overlooked. Take it in stride. Add that new found insecurity on to the long list, and move on.
That, for the most part, covers all the main aspects in this full moon chart. Also be aware of the long term hidek by Pluto. We don't experience this very often, (like maybe once every 50 years or so) but we are being forced to adapt to a new reality. We can either adapt the easy way, or we can be forced to accept the changes. Pluto has no qualms with making us be the "examples" of why change is necessary.
The overall chart is not too unbalanced. Where we are most likely to have a life lesson is in our values and stubborn persistence. The chart has five placements in Fixed signs, Taurus, Leo and Aquarius, may have us pushing back on the aspects from any of the other signs. Wait a day before speaking out too loudly.
Meditation for the July 24th Full Moon
We must learn when to indulge and when to deny hunger.
