Full Moon

August 3, 2020 @ 9:00 a.m. PDT -7
Sun is Leo, 11° 46'
Moon is Aquarius, 11° 46'

The Sun, transiting through the sign that it rules over, Leo, is opposing the Moon in Aquarius. The Moon has just dropped back down into regular declination after having transited Out of Bounds (OOB) August 1 and 2. For the next few years, the Moon will transit OOB twice or three times per month while transiting in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. This is because the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn define the declination path of the Sun. When planets exceed the Sun's normal course, it is considered to be exceeding that path, and almost always happens in the signs of Cancer and Capricorn. But it can sometimes occur in the late degrees of Gemini and Sagittarius. Two more OOB transits for the Moon will occur August 15 - 16 and August 28 - 29. These can be vulnerable points of time for us.

Back to the Moon opposing the Sun. This full moon is forming a T-square to Uranus in Taurus. These are all fixed signs, adding to feelings of being stuck or blocked by our situations. The irony of this is that we may be in our own way. We may be so stuck within our perspective, that we fail to see that we just need to get out of our own mindset. Ever hear of that concept of becoming mindful? Now may be the best time to become "mindful" of what we are, currently, and where we hope to be before the next full moon.

Mercury is finishing up its Cancer transit, as we think more introspectively to wrap up this transit. Mercury is opposing Saturn retrograde in Capricorn. We can learn a lot about ourselves by looking at the traits that others see as redeeming about our character. Expand on those positive traits to avoid the potentials of depression, compulsions, or jealousy during this full moon.

Venus in Gemini is chomping at the bit to get out there and socialize. Venus' transit through Gemini is typically highlighted with parties, gatherings, trips with friends, and generally adventuring together. Now probably just isn't the right time to be doing that. Can we come up with more creative ways to share our friendship? How about creating "art" together, from afar. With Zoom or Skype, can we try to paint the same picture while sharing our emotional feelings within the process? Or Cooking something while streaming the process to share with others. Texting, talking on the phone, or even writing a letter, or poem to those we want to stay connected with, while protecting them/ourselves from potentially spreading the virus. What about a virtual dance party with our favorite people? Anything that helps us to feel connected, while Venus moves through Gemini.

Today, Venus is square to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. We may feel as though we are re-living old traumas that have bubbled back to the surface. With both Venus and Neptune involved, we may be able to help heal with creations that feed the soul and protect the heart. Music, art, communication, or anything that allows us to express the trauma in a way that no longer feels traumatic. On the other hand, if we are feeling triggered in ways that take us right back to the event, it may be time to seek out therapy that allows us to begin the healing process in a more controlled environment.

Mars is right at home in Aries, forming squares to Pluto and Jupiter retrogrades in Capricorn. Impatience seems to be the key theme here. Some of us seem to be more focused on the "me" in the moment. Mars is not big on learning lessons proactively, and Jupiter just likes to blow things up, while Pluto is the master of tearing stuff down. Collectly, these three interactions certainly do not bode well when they are all working together, yet not really caring about the outcome. We know the drill, but will we have the mental fortitude to actually change?

Speaking about Jupiter retrograde and Pluto retrograde in Capricorn, while both are currently forming a conjunction, there is going to be another layer added, very soon. There will be added tension to their already tense transits. Pluto will begin to push into the higher declinations, also known as Hidek, starting August 6. This added declination layer will continue to impact all Pluto's transits/aspects through December 30. Jupiter will also push into this same region starting August 12 but will end October 19. If you thought we were feeling tension up to this point, be ready for a whole new level of pressure to test our patience. Those that want to dominate others will try to use this period to oppress and control. There may be some new wars brewing and initiated, beyond fighting the virus.

Jupiter and Pluto are currently forming sextiles to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Spirituality and mysteries are most likely to be explored or feel more relevant during this aspect. We may experience vivid dreams that feel significant with all that is happening around us. This will stick with us at least through October. It might be an excellent time to start writing about the dreams and experiences so that we can reflect as we are growing through the process.

Saturn's retrograde back into Capricorn is pushing back into a conjunction with Pluto. Reflect back onto the changes that culminated from the last conjunctions. This first (recent) brush up between Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn occurred March 2019 through June 2019. This was not an exact conjunction, but may have some connections for our current reflection. The exact conjunction occurred mid January, but the wax and wane of the conjunction started in November 2019 and ended in February 2020. If we don't have ready access to a journal, we can always look back at the news to help us gain perspective on events that we may be revisiting with this next Saturn and Pluto almost conjunction driveby. There will not be another exact conjunction but the close interaction will last into November, 2020.

As for finding balance within this full moon, we are able to find it, if we need it. There are six feminine placed planets and there are four masculine. So that's actually very useful for us as we will be able to be both objective and subjective with our observations. There are at least two planets placed in each of the four elements of this chart. We should have the ability to express feelings without lingering and without hindsight. We should be able to easily think matters through carefully before reaching a decision. Although there are five Cardinal placements, the fixed and mutable placements possess the ability to carry their own weight in this chart. We will have the ability to change those situations that need to be changed, while letting go of situations that cannot (so to speak).

Meditation for the August 3rd Full Moon
As with tigers, the female of the human species is also a capable hunter.
