Sun is Sagittarius, 0° 52'
Moon is Gemini, 0° 52'
This full moon is known as the Beaver Moon, since the beavers in North America were (still are) busy preparing for the winter months.
The Sun has just stepped into Sagittarius for this full moon in Gemini. We are likely to start feeling much more restless, now that we are heading into the Winter Solstice on December 21st. While the Sun transits Sagittarius, we are more in tune with learning new concepts, exploring cultures and religions, and generally open to new experiences. The Sun is conjunct with Jupiter in Sagittarius. Jupiter skipped into Sagittarius on November 8th. The full moon, along with Jupiter, is tied to Mars in Pisces in a mutable T-Square. The challenges that we experience from this aspect will likely be due to our desire to be flexible with a situation. The emotions could be raw and on the surface, whatever the outcome might be. Jupiter has a way of blowing everything into a larger-than-life scenario.
Plus, of course, we have Mercury retrograde transiting back through Sagittarius, forming a square to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Mercury retrograde already causes enough troubles, especially with all Mercurial things. Communication, contracts, electronics, purchases, deliveries, travel; you get the idea. Pretty much anything that involves interactions between people, including online, tends to get muddled, somehow, someway. Of course, when we have a holiday in the mix (Thanksgiving and Black Friday) we might as well expect something to go wrong that will need us to redo or fix at a later date. Family discussions around the holiday dining table may even get confusing and frustrating. Add in the fact that Mercury just finished an almost three week stint transiting out of bounds and is causing us to feel a whole lot vulnerable. Think in terms of all the fires and other FEMA recovery efforts that are continuing to take place. Mercury OOB added to the frustrations and fears. And while Mercury is transiting in the high southern declination for a few more days, we can anticipate most of that anxiety to continue.
One would think that Venus, now direct, and hanging out at home in Libra would help us to feel safe, right? But no, Venus is opposing Uranus retrograde over the anaretic degree of Aries. This can cause a lot of tension to bubble to the surface in ways we don't anticipate. Any relationships built during the next few days may be short-lived and intended to be more for survival purposes rather than for partnership needs. As for money, we are likely to spend way more than we make.
As mentioned earlier, Mars is in Pisces trying to act as a pivot point between the Sun, Jupiter and the Moon. We can't seem to win with anything right now. Mars is watered down and even weighted down with the Pisces matters that typically involve taking care of others, mental health matters, and large institutions. Hey, it may even impact our feet. The out of sign sextile aspect to Uranus retrograde in Aries (on the anaretic degree) may only add to the confusion rather than make us more aware.
Jupiter is transiting in Sagittarius, for the next thirteen months. Remember, Jupiter is right at home in Sagittarius. This can be quite the optimistic transit, but even extra optimism can have its pitfalls. Expect a restless feeling for the next year, as Jupiter likes to be on the move, and shake some spice into our lives, especially while feeling at home.
Saturn, for all intents and purposes has settled into Capricorn, transiting direct, and trying to help us make sense of all the recent changes in our lives. Saturn just wants us to work hard, earn that respect we are desiring, and do it the "right" way. Not mentioned in the Mars section of this full moon, is the interaction between Mars and Saturn, because this message is significantly different. The sweet nugget here is that Mars and Saturn can work together to help us get somethings right. There's the potential that we start something new and that it can help us feel better for having started the project.
All in all, this full moon chart is challenging us to adapt to the changes. The receptives are back in balance between masculine and feminine placements. There are at least two planet placements in all four elements, fire, air, earth and water. As for the qualities, aka modalities, we are missing the fixed mode placements. There's an abundance of mutable mode placements that may cause us to be indecisive or simply unable to make a choice that fits best for us. This complicates the full moon influence, adding to the other challenges we will feel. Take a deep breath and remember that we don't always have to make the right decision. Just the best one for the day and hopefully we can come back later to revisit the options we chose.
Meditation for the November 23rd Full Moon
Irreverence should not take itself too seriously.
