Lunar Living Astrology

This full moon in Gemini is known as the Cold Moon as we head into the winter season. Even though we are not quite into the season of winter (in the northern hemisphere) we are close enough to it for the month of December to recognize that the days are short, and the darkness is long. Some tribes called this the "Long Nights Moon." With the Sun in Sagittarius, this full moon is lining up with Mars retrograde for a conjunction in Gemini. This full moon may challenge us to slow down for a good "listen" within our conversations. We may make assumptions that point us in the wrong direction. Throw in the fact that this full moon is also forming a wedge aspect with Saturn in Aquarius. We may need to carefully ask questions that respect the fact that we are honoring the other person's worth and value within the discussion. Not taking the time to get the full picture is what will damage the relationship more than the act of inquiry.

From the Sun's placement in Sagittarius, there is an inconjunct (quincunx) to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. We are being challenged to find our personal happiness and safety within a space that we normally would think should already "be." A short thoughtful confrontation may be necessary in order to solidify our place, today.

Mercury has moved into Capricorn, ahead of the Sun, which is an indication that Mercury is preparing for a retrograde motion soon. Just be aware that Mercury will station for retrograde on December 29th. For today, Mercury is forming an out of sign square to Jupiter in Pisces. This won't turn into an "in sign" square because Jupiter is taking a long sit on the 29th degree of Pisces. Jupiter's ingress to Aries will occur on December 20th. As such, this out of sign square between Mercury and Jupiter is going to feel watered down. Nonetheless, our judgment may not be as good as it could be. Our impulse and practicality may be at odds today.

Venus, still in Sagittarius, is also forming a square to Jupiter in Pisces and it is an "in sign" aspect. Venus is moving out of a square with Neptune, also in Pisces. Carefully using our talents and our charm can help us stay out of trouble. But, be aware that we may be experiencing sleep issues. Weird dreams and sleeplessness may impede on our abilities to be productive. Self-medicating should be avoided for a day or three, as we may only make matters worse. Find healthier ways to get back on the sleep track.

Jupiter and Neptune are no longer conjunct in Pisces, but both are forming sextiles to Pluto in Capricorn. These three are working out their authority issues, which in turn become our authority issues. We are questioning WHY rules are the way that they are, and should we push the issues, or should we just find some work arounds that make our own lives easier. The choices we make today could ultimately impact us again, later on down the road. Just don't make the assumption that our choices today will be the "end" of the concerns that we are having.

Although this chart, at first glance appears to be wobbly, it is not that much out of whack. The planets are equally balanced between masculine and feminine receptive placements, indicating that we can easily move between ideologies without feeling pressure. There are two Fire sign placements, three Earth, three Air, and two Water sign for the Elements in this chart. Again, very balanced, giving us plenty of opportunities to make good choices. The Qualities of the chart, are not quite as balanced, in that there are six planets in Mutable signs. But, of the three qualities, the Mutable is the most flexible, if we don't push this as an opportunity to slide out of necessary projects. We can adapt and switch sides without feeling guilty, as long as there is careful consideration involved.
