Sun is Cancer, 13° 38'
Moon is Capricorn, 13° 38'
This Lunar Eclipse is from a relatively new lunar saros series associated with the fourth nodal family and originating from the southern hemisphere. The original eclipse occurred June 13, 1984 from the 22nd degree of Sagittarius. This is only the third occurrence from this series, and being so new, it may not be very visible, as lunar eclipses go. It is a penumbral (partial) with very little obscuring shadow. If you can find a really dark region (no surrounding lighting) you might be able to observe the eclipse over North and South America.
The Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn are transiting over critical degrees of these signs, indicating that the influences of the two transits ia more intense than usual. Supposedly, the Cancer nature is more tenacious (like a mother bear?) and the Capricorn nature may be more materialistic than usual. This certainly could explain why some people are so adamant about their perspectives right now. The Sun/Moon opposition is forming a wedge to Uranus in Taurus. Intuition is increased but so are accidents and missteps. If used correctly, this may bring sudden and unexpected opportunities by being open to the possibilities and exploring unusual ideas.
Mercury is still retrograde in Cancer and seemingly impacting people in ways that are perplexing. Some of us are feeling like we have run out of ways to "step over" Mercury's antics. Mercury's sextile to Uranus ties it into this lunar eclipse, encouraging us to think in terms of trusting our instincts and not relying on the word of others. Unbiased research is our best friend at this time. Also, Mercury is forming a square to Mars in Aries. Some of us are going to be hot headed for no good reason. It's an emotional rather than an intellectual reaction. Doesn't need to be, but we may be easily triggered into an over the top response.
Venus in Gemini is forming a sextile to Mars in Aries. This tends to amp up passion within relationships. Passion may be in the form of loud and vocal, or hot and steamy. Just find a healthy way to express the passions that help build a better connection.
Mars is at home in Aries. It is forming an out of sign sextile to Saturn now in Capricorn. This is the "start over" connection that allows us to feel okay with starting over.
Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn is still forming a conjunction to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. We are in a learning process that allows us to tear apart and rebuild, hopefully with better results. Jupiter and Pluto are also sextile to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. This may feel like a bandaid being pulled off a festering wound. It is a perspective changing connection that most of us don't even want to have to explore.
Saturn has ingressed back (retrograde) into Capricorn and is on the anaretic degree. There is always an discomforting feeling as Saturn moves over any anaretic degree. Moving back over old territory in order to explore what needs to be fixed.
This Lunar Eclipse chart is mostly feminine in nature, wanting to adapt, rather than resist, but at the same time, willing to resist when adapting is no longer working. We are likely to bide our time and wait for the right moment to try to improve our circumstances. The chart is mostly placed with Earth and Water signs, that provide us with a good mix of grounding and regulation of our emotions. The majority of the planets in this chart are placed in Cardinal signs, meaning that we will have not problem taking actions as we feel are needed. Where we need to use caution is to avoid being overpowering or bullying for the sake of getting our own way. That old say, "It's not just about you."
