Lunar Eclipse
in: Taurus 16° November 8, 2022 @ 11:02 a.m. GMT November 8, 2022 @ 3:02 a.m. PST -8
Sun is Scorpio, 16° 01'
Moon is Taurus, 16° 01' The lunar eclipse is a full moon, and some tribes call this full moon the Beaver Moon. Because it is a total eclipse, it will turn reddish during the peak of the eclipse. This particular lunar eclipse belongs to the lunar saros series 136 originating on April 13, 1680 in the 6th nodal family from the northern hemisphere. The first lunar eclipse was at 24 degrees of Libra in the 3rd decan and the 10th duad. This means that the birth chart of lunar saros 136 is ruled by Venus, Mercury and the Moon. The original influences carry over into each subsequent lunar eclipse of saros 136 which is likely to bring in notes of harmony and partnership matters, financial issues, communication and contract concerns, along with emotional family affairs that potentially tie into today's eclipse. The total eclipse is only visible in areas where it is dark during the full moon event; Asia, Australia, the Pacific Ocean regions and some of the Americas. Hopefully the skies will be clear enough to view it, since it will be the last total eclipse for a few years. During this total lunar eclipse, the Sun in Scorpio is opposing the Moon in Taurus, while the Moon is forming a conjunction to Uranus retrograde. The Sun is forming a stellium of conjunctions to Mercury and Venus. We can throw in the Lunar Nodes, as well, which are close by and always a factor during any lunar or solar eclipse. These placements make for heavy emphasis on Scorpio and Taurus influences during this full moon. The planets, but not the nodes, are forming squares to Saturn in Aquarius, with challenges that come directly from the Taskmaster, pushing on us to follow the rules, conform, if necessary, or risk the consequences for failure to comply. Taurus impacts our personal safety, personal materials, including items that we take out large loans on, such as cars and homes. Scorpio oversees the money we borrow, our familial legacies, and the matters in our lives that we tend to want to keep hidden from others. The personal truths that we typically are uncomfortable to share openly. Tie both of those in with Aquarius influences of social and societal connections, along with our desires to be unfettered by the societal norms that feel restrictive in our lives. We want to pick and choose which norms to be attached with and be absolved of the ones that don't coincide with our lifestyles. With so many planets in these three signs that are squaring or opposing, we may become less comfortable during this full moon than we have been recently. As we all know by now, there are going to be some obstacles that we will need to confront in order to move forward with our plans. There is the strong possibility that finances are involved in our decisions. Situations that we thought we had all lined up may start to dissolve suddenly. Partnerships may erode after many months or even years of compatibility. Every planet in this full moon chart has some connection with at least one other planet. Mars retrograde in Gemini is forming an inconjunct (quincunx) to Pluto in Capricorn. Mars and Pluto are significant in this chart because of their co-rulership over Scorpio. There is likely to be a shift in our communications as well as our connections to authority. It is possible that our typical charm becomes less effective as others can see through our BS. Mars is square to Jupiter retrograde and Neptune retrograde in Pisces, throwing additional weight on our shoulders via large institutions or organizations that we need to navigate in order to obtain the help that we are seeking. Pluto is also connected to Jupiter and Neptune with sextiles, hopefully with some options that we can find, if we are persistent or open to trying new opportunities. Not mentioned until now is the trine from Venus in Scorpio to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. We might be able to tap into some talents to open doors that we normally would not have access through. Keeping an open mind we might see some new opportunities that are directly tied to talents that we have developed over the years. In the United States, this lunar eclipse event is occurring very close to an important election. Political shifts are likely to have an impact that some are not likely to be comfortable accepting. The Moon's Out of Bounds (OOB) transits continue to occur at least twice per month; once in the northern hemisphere and once in the southern. Expect to feel vulnerable between November 10th to the 15th and again November 24th through the 28th, when the Moon passes over the extreme declination boundary into the tension zone. Events that occur during this time tend to feel beyond our control and we feel more stressed during these periods. Add in the fact that Mars went OOB starting October 22, and will remain OOB into 2023! This extended Mars OOB transit coincides with Mars' extended retrograde transit in Gemini. Overall, this eclipse chart is heavy with Feminine receptives, meaning that we are feeling more internalized emotions, potentially with extreme feelings of guilt, responsibility, and stressors. We are not wanting others to know about our feelings so we attempt to carry the burdens alone. When charts are heavy with Feminine receptives, this means that there are more Earth and/or Water Element placements. Today, there are more Water element placements guiding us with intuition and "gut" feelings, but we also tend to doubt these feelings if they don't align with what we are hoping for. This chart is also heavy with fixed sign placements. That can also cause self-doubt and make us slow to react to situations that may need a quick response. We move through this lunar eclipse with ideas that may not align with others around us. While our ideas may not be wrong, others may chastise us for not agreeing with their perspectives. It may feel like a painful path to travel alone. Today will be a "follow the facts" day and try not to allow others to lead us down a disinformation tunnel. Meditation for the November 8th Lunar Eclipse
Sleep soundly in the darkness, but wake in the light.
