For some of the Asian community, this new moon is the start of the Lunar Year of the Dragon. And what an interesting start! With the Sun and Moon joining up in Aquarius, Pluto has left Capricorn behind. Mercury is also in Aquarius, and not a single planet in this chart is retrograde! The new moon is square to Uranus in Taurus, ensuring that situations are likely to shift quickly and potentially in ways we are thoroughly unprepared to deal with.

Mercury, in Aquarius, is square to Jupiter in Taurus, perhaps causing us to have unrealistic expectations. We may simply blow things out of proportion, because... well... we just feel like it.

Venus in Capricorn is trine to Uranus in Taurus while sextile to Neptune in Pisces. Remember that neither of these outer planets are retrograde at the moment. We can tap into Venus' natural talents and charisma to get a few things done. Some situations will spontaneously occur, while others may come to us in our dreams. Finding the right way to develop these new ideas will not be quite as easy, but can certainly be the start of a new venture.

Mars, also in Capricorn, is also sextile to Neptune in Pisces. This is one of the "hard work" connections. Proof of our abilities is necessary, then ensuring that others can see the abilities is the other factor.

Jupiter in Taurus is sextile to Saturn in Pisces. Expansion upon our foundation can help to set us onto a new path. Saturn being the basis for developing a strong base, while Jupiter can help us to spread the news, if we are willing to do the follow-up after the aspect has moved one. With both planets moving direct, this Jupiter sextile Saturn will be with us all the way into April, giving us plenty of time to develop the perfect strategy and start the implementation. So Let's Get Crack'n on that project!

Overall, there are some great placements with this new moon. Yet, we are likely to find us struggling based on the number of planets in the Earth Element and Fixed Quality placements in this chart. We may be stuck in Dreamer Mode and that's not necessarily a bad place to start, but if we don't eventually move forward, we may lose the zest for getting anything done. This particular new moon chart is devoid of Fire Element placements. We may need to push ourselves outside of that dreamy comfort zone, if we really plan to accomplish much of anything over the next few days.

Some say that the year of the Dragon can be a real roller coaster. So much pushing and shoving to be felt, or having to listen to the boastings of those who are compelled to brag because, in truth, they are unable to actually produce. Now, that does not mean that the power of the Dragon is not real, but there will be many competing along actual Dragons for that power in the wake of the Dragon influence, and... yah... the vibrato is not the same as the real and natural deal. The real Dragons were born predominately in the years of 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, and 2012 (typically from February through January of the next year).
