New Moon

Sun is Aries, 4° 12'
Moon is Aries, 4° 12'

We are entering a new phase with this new moon. The start of Spring (Fall in the southern hemisphere) is considered to be the beginning of the zodiac. Aries is considered to be the "first" sign with new beginnings, adapting to change and adjusting to transitions. Boy, are we ever! The full moon earlier in the month seemed to be hitting with a new sense of reality. As we attempt to cope and try to get our sea-legs under us, we are likely to be feeling a bit sea-sick from all the waves of change surging over our "bow." So what can this new moon do for us, or to us?

The Sun and Moon join up in the first decan of Aries. This is usually a state of "can-do" and finding ways to lead. But there can also be impulsiveness and impatience at this time, as we hate feeling tied down or restrained through no fault of our own. We tend to start projects that never quite get finished when the Sun transits through Aries. We are feeling inspired, but can easily get distracted by events that feel more important.

Saturn has just ingressed Aquarius and is forming an in-sign sextile to the new moon. This adds to potential frustrations of being restrained from acting freely. But, at the same time, Saturn has a way of teaching respect and restraint in times of crisis. There is the potential for Saturn to also provide innovative leadership at this time, in ways that will feel foreign. Saturn's placement will tie in a square to Uranus in Taurus, and a sextile from Uranus to Mercury in Pisces. So, even though the new moon is not directly tied to Uranus or Mercury, there are connections, indirectly, which fuel moments of inspiration and moments of chaos during this new moon.

Mercury is all done with the retrograde motion and starting to get us back on track. Mercury logic was lacking during the last full moon, which may have contributed to many of the earlier mistakes/missteps in trying to get a handle on the pandemic. A few more days until Mercury is totally clear of the retrograde shadow, but those threads are mostly remnants from the retrograde transit that linger over after Mercury has stationed and started moving direct again. As mentioned, Mercury is sextile to Uranus in Taurus. We are trying to trust our instincts and intuition in the face of fake news and mistakes that we encounter. We may have a difficult time sorting through facts, opinions, and intentional misinformation designed to misguide us. If you hear/read something that seems potentially illogical or outrageous, then check it out. That's the wonderful feature of the internet. We now have the ability to fact check information with other resources that we trust. Step outside of the power of the fear mongers. Learning how to fact check for ourselves will give us the power we need to make informed decisions.

Venus, at home in Taurus, is forming a trine to Mars, Jupiter and Pluto stellium in Capricorn. There is a small dose of good luck with this, between Venus and Jupiter, another dose of passion and compassion between Venus and Mars, along with a dose of readjusting and transitioning based on hind-sight between Venus and Pluto. Use these wonderful tools to help stay positive and proactive. Learn from the past. Learn about the positive ways that people dealt with adversity during times of crisis, within your family and communities. Try not to dwell on the adversity, itself. Stay hopeful and cautious, at the same time. It can be done.

Venus is also forming a sextile connection to Neptune in Pisces. This can bring out hidden talents and help us to learn new skills quickly. Thankfully, there tends to be a gentle harmony with this connection. Try to avoid the fear and lean into compassion that we so desperately need.

As mentioned, there is a stellium in Capricorn with Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto. This brings a great mix of self-confidence, can-do spirit and enthusiasm, along with the potential for endurance and inner strength. All the traits that are useful at this time.

There is a sextile from this stellium to Neptune in Pisces. While there is the potential for confusion (brought about by scammers trying to make a quick buck from the chaos and by the run of the mill ne'er do wells trying to impede progress by others) we WILL have the ability to step out of that and find the positives in this situation. Honest Optimism can also be infectious.

The Out of Bounds (OOB) news is that the moon will be OOB most of the day on April 1. Venus will be heading into Hidek on March 29 and go OOB on April 2 for over two months. During these OOB periods, we tend to feel more vulnerable and disasters tend to be more extreme.

Overall, this chart is mostly filled with feminine receptives. That brings an inward strength that does not need outward reward in order to feel competent. This means that the majority of planets are in Earth and a couple of Water elements. This helps us to track down resources and to take good care of our health.

Take care and be safe.
