The Sun and Moon meet up for the new moon in Taurus. Such a purposeful transit that pushes us to seek and define self security for ourselves.
The new moon is waxing into a sextile to Neptune in Pisces, helping us to imagine situations from a different perspective. Additionally, the new moon is moving into a trine with Saturn retrograde in Capricorn. This adds to our patience and focus to build or rebuild the structure (physical or emotional) that we are yearning. This is a great time to evaluate needs to help us get to the next level on our journey. Remember to focus on true needs, not merely the wants that we have been desiring.
Let's talk a little about Out of Bounds (OOB) transits where planets transit north or south beyond the Lines of Tropic. The Tropics are two of the five major lines of latitude on Earth. When these areas are reached or surpasses by the planets overhead, the planetary transits tend to add a nervous like influence to our activities. We may be a bit more paranoid, or more inclined to believe in situations that may not actually be factual, but it just "feels" like it might be true. Sometimes, planets will move to the "edge" of these tropic lines, but do not actually cross the line. These "pushing the edge" planet transits will also add some intensity, pushing us in directions that we would not normally consider. When these transits are close to the the Tropic of Cancer or Tropic of Capricorn, we will be quietly influenced for a temporary period of time. This can be a very creative time, or a very unhealthy tension period. Our stress levels may spiral "Out of Bounds" even though the planet itself does not. Pushing the edge is partly what is going on with Jupiter, since mid-February. Plus, now that there are some other planets either preparing to transit Out of Bounds, or transiting Out of Bounds, we may be starting to question our sanity, our health, our beliefs, or other factors that can stress us out. Thankfully, the Moon is not yet pushing out there, adding to the tension. But, soon enough, in the next few years, the Moon will, once again, add an extra dose of tension spurts on a monthly basis. The OOB transits will be touched on individually based on the planets, below. Moontracks.com has the current declination charts, and Lunarliving.org Astrology section has an article explaining the Moon's Out of Bounds transits.
Mercury is in Aries and preparing to move into Taurus and is transiting over a critical degree which is influenced by Sagittarius. It is currently interacting with Jupiter retrograde in Sagittarius and, by the way, rules over Sagittarius. This adds an extra dose of Jupiter like influence to our day. It may be a stroke of luck being presented to us, or it may be a full-on load of dooh. This is because Jupiter retrograde is tripping on the outer edges of almost being Out of Bounds and has been for quite a while. In other words, the influence of Jupiter today is not to be trusted. Mercury is also reaching out to Mars in Gemini. Another stress inducing aspect.
Mars, it just so happens, is transiting Out of Bounds past the Tropic of Cancer. Mars began the OOB transit on April 20, and will not be done until June 13. Then there will be the period of time where Mars is gradually easing back into the typical transit zone between the Tropics. When the Fiery planet is stressed, it also burns hotter, making us feel extremely uncomfortable. We may not find our usual relief with working out, or "walking it off." We also tend to be a bit more accident prone. We may notice more anger and volatility within our neighborhoods. This can also be a time when natural disasters are more destructive.
The third planet that Mercury is aspecting is Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Unbelievable that this transit may actually be less intense than the Trine and Sextile! Nonetheless, there is still a transformative component here, that we will need to adapt for our own benefit.
On May 24, Mercury will be pushing out towards the Tropic of Cancer, starting to feel unstable, will step over the Tropic on May 27, then stay Out of Bounds until June 18. Let's remember that the OOB of Mercury impacts the mind and our mental health.
Venus, in Aries, is preparing to slide into home base of Taurus. Venus is also causing us to feel a bit antsy as Aries is not one of its favorite signs. But, there is always a push to wrap up situations involving relationships, finances and our creative talents. The square aspect to Saturn retrograde in Capricorn is not the most helpful in these areas. There's a blocked feeling with this one. Proceed with caution and precision to make the most of this transit.
As mentioned earlier, Mars in Gemini is transiting Out of Bounds until June 13. Mars, as was pointed out, is north of the Tropic of Cancer, and is opposing Jupiter retrograde in Sagittarius, near the Tropic of Capricorn in the southern hemisphere. There is not a lot of positivity within this transit today. It is likely to play out one of two ways. Either someone stomps all over us, or we stomp all over someone else. Neither will have a productive outcome. The best outcome will arrive based on how we choose to act. Try to avoid the situation, or choose not to engage. Flared tempers rarely produce positive outcomes. Also, Mars is square to Neptune in Pisces. Poor mental health is likely to impact our vitality. In other terms, we either shorten our life span because we don't shake it off, or we suffer a serious health crisis.
The final significant aspect of this new moon chart is Jupiter retrograde in Sagittarius pushing back into a square to Neptune in Pisces. We may end up taking on more than we can handle, because Neptune is clouding our vision. Saturn retrograde in Capricorn, however, is sextile to Neptune, and if we channel this connection, we may find productive outlets to our frustrations. Tap into any creative talents that we possess to build on that creativity for the best outcomes. Saturn is still conjunct to Pluto retrograde. This is a slow transformative connection that we may, or may not, notice in our lives.
In spite of the push and pull of this new moon chart, there is enough balance here to keep us from totally toppling over. Don't be in such a rush to accomplish anything, or to prove a point. This is a "keep your head down and keep moving forward" type of new moon.
