Sun is Gemini, 2° 05'
Moon is Gemini, 2° 05'
This new moon in Gemini's chart is likely to define us as feeling self-reliant and motivated to fix problems. The planets are all situated in the "eastern" signs, which are Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. The new moon in Gemini today is certainly not going to conform to traditional ideas while solving problems. With the new moon's square to Mars in Pisces, we are likely to ruffle some people's feathers by standing out in non-traditional ways. But if you take the time to explain or at the very least, acknowledge that this is an "experiment" you might calm down the concerns of others. The new moon is trine to Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, with an out of sign trine to Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn. An out of sign aspect is one that the planet is typically near the cusp of the preceding or subsequent sign but is still close enough to form a tightly-orbed aspect. However, the traditional characteristics of the influence is not quite the same as when it is "in sign" for that aspect. Plus add in the fact that the planets are now transiting retrograde, there is that to factor in, as well. Saturn's retrograde trine to the new moon is pushing back on us. Our methods of self-discipline may not be working at this time. We may need to rethink our approach. This trine can help is to adapt to different methods. Jupiter's retrograde out-of-sign trine has us wondering who is the real boss at this time. We may question our own leadership abilities or the leadership of others. It's not necessarily a negative influence, but more of a situation that feels larger than life when we try to come to terms with it. We may discover connections that bring us back to family values if we take the time to explore the emotions behind our feelings.
Be aware that the Moon will be transiting Out of Bounds on May 25 and 26. For readers in the United States, May 25 is Memorial Day. There may be some vulnerable moments associated with the Moon's OOB transit on those two dates.
Mercury in Gemini began transiting OOB on May 16 and will stay OOB until June 10. Mercury's OOB transit has a way of rocking our perspectives of the world. Situations that we thought were stable, we begin to realize, aren't. Mercury in Gemini is forming a conjunction of Venus retrograde, which is also transiting OOB. As we are gradually starting to realize, our economy was not firmly established. Not simply in the US, but across many countries, there was no firm plan for dealing with a pandemic. Venus, OOB, and now retrograde, is teaching us just how fragile our economies are. But, back to Mercury for the moment. Mercury is square to Neptune in Pisces. This can interfere in about ability to stay focused on reality. Especially during this new moon, we may start to doubt facts because we are experiencing inconsistencies in concepts and realities.
Venus retrograde in Gemini is, as mentioned above, still transiting OOB. The OOB transit will end on June 2, and the retrograde that stationed on May 13 will end on June 25. As discussed, there is a lot of think about pertaining to finances, a loss of feeling secure, and our personal abilities. The OOB transits always throw in a double dose of vulnerability. Individuals who have heightened anxiety or past traumas may need to seek out professional therapy to help navigate through these fears. At the moment, Venus is also square to Neptune in Pisces. We are likely to mull about old situations that either feel unresolved, or we are confronted by someone who feels that we have harmed them in the past. Either situation, we may need to explore our role in the situation to determine what we can do to fix or at least heal these old wounds.
Mars in Pisces is sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Since neither of these planets is transiting retrograde, we might be able to burn off some pent-up energy. We may be repressing old resentments or trying to get along with some people that you are "pent-up" with. Finding healthy releases without harming others, physically or emotionally, is the best option. Mars' contact with Uranus may help us find safe and healthy releases during this new moon.
Jupiter retrograde in Capricorn started (stationed) on May 14. The normally larger than life nature of Jupiter tends to get whittled down a little when Jupiter transits retrograde for a few months. The retrograde will end in September, so we can expect that our "lucky natured" Jupiter will be trimming down over the next few months. The positive side of this is that we are likely to approach situations in a slightly more cautious fashion. Jupiter is forming an out of sign conjunction to Saturn retrograde in Aquarius. This is almost a "moot" aspect, as though it doesn't even exist at this time. Jupiter is still forming a conjunction with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. With this do-over in effect, we are being given a chance to do it right this time. In other words, for the balance of the year, at least until December, we are being given an opportunity to fix some of the things that we screwed up. It is not a one and done opportunity. It is a gradual shift, where we fix a little, then learn a little, then fix some more. If you really want to track your progress, now is a great time to start keeping a journal to truly experience the overall change that will occur.
Saturn, as mentioned several times, is retrograde in Aquarius. Saturn stationed for retrograde motion on May 11. Saturn's retrograde will end on September 29. Saturn will "regress" (ingress back into) Capricorn on July 1st (or 2nd depending on where you live). Saturn's retrograde has a way of opening opportunities for us in unusual ways. Options will develop out of research that helps us to understand situations that we have been struggling to solve.
The last major aspect of the chart is Neptune in Pisces sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. This is a loose orbed aspect and it is building intensity with each upcoming interaction. It is generally believed to be a "revelation" type of aspect that does not happen very often and when it does, it might last for several weeks, sometimes several months, and in a few instances in the future, the aspect will last for more than a year at a time. In this instance, it will last for several months. What it reveals will be different for each of us. To understand it better, look at your personal natal chart to see what houses that Pluto and Neptune are currently transiting. (If you want to skip to the overview, feel free to jump over the next information.) From now until 2037, there will be occasional loose orbed sextile connections between Neptune and Pluto. This connection is something to keep an eye on over the next 18 years. The first exact sextile between Neptune (in Aries) and Pluto (in Aquarius), in the near future, will occur July 25, 2026. After that, there will be 12 more exact sextiles with the last one occurring (in our life time) on February 29, 2032. Children born with this aspect in their chart are more likely to be able to see what others cannot. If you like to do research, the last time Neptune and Pluto formed a series of exact sextile aspects started October 10, 1976 with the last one occurring June 9, 1986. Looking back to the last time Aquarius and Aries were the signs (Neptune in Aquarius and Pluto in Aries) was in 1844 and 1845.
Overall, and despite all the planets being situated in the Eastern Hemisphere of the chart, there is a nice balance of feminine and masculine receptive placements. The extrovert will meld nicely with the introvert, and vice versa, even if it is only within ourselves. The sign elements, though, are lacking Fire and heavy in Air. So, leadership and determination may not be front and center on today's agenda, but flexibility and adaptability certainly are. Need to change our plans today? No problem, let's figure something else to do. Adding to this flexibility is the fact that there are six planets in Mutable signs. Versatility should help to make the day flow by more easily.
