Sun is Cancer, 24° 56'
Moon is Cancer, 24° 56'

This new moon is likely to be a kick in the tookus as a step towards waking us up to some change. Along with the new moon, please note that the Mean Lunar Nodes have just entered new signs, Aries and Libra, and we are moving out of the "possessive" phase of Taurus and Scorpio. What's to come of us now that the nodes are moving through Aries and Libra? Just be aware that we will feel the shift soon enough and we should try to keep an open mind.

The Sun and Moon are in Cancer for the first and the last time "together" this year. Family matters and home issues are important jumping off points with this new moon. Allowing our emotions to be tapped is significant for growth. No need to wallow, but it is helpful to acknowledge that we do "have" emotions. The new moon is moving into opposition with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Now is not the time to bully others and we may need to protect ourselves from others who are bullies. This new moon is sextile to Uranus in Taurus, and trine to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Having a new moon that is tied to all the outer planets at the same time is a strong message that there are some generational messages. We should stay tuned for those messages and not shy away, ignore, nor sweep those messages to the side, since the messages pertain to all of us for a better future.

Mercury is in Leo, forming a square to Jupiter in Taurus. This one is trying to encourage us to be more practical in our thinking. Now is not the best time to be frivolous with our ideas nor our money.

Venus is heading into a retrograde motion. On July 22nd/23rd, Venus will station retrograde in Leo, eventually sending us some frustrating influences that will either set us back to the start of some project, or cause us to rethink our financial or relationship situations. Venus will station direct on September 3rd/4th, essentially giving us a three-month transit through Leo. We obviously have something to learn about some type of Venus in Leo business until October. As for today, Venus is forming two inconjunct aspects (quincunx) to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces. While not the most harsh of aspects to these two deeply rooted planets, we are likely being advised to tap into our natural talents to help us make the most of these two connections. Most likely, the issues we need to address are financial/fiscal, or relationship/partnerships. We are being tested to either adjust, or realign our ideals to make the situation/s better. Timing is important with this one. Trigger dates to watch for as the Moon will move over each point over the next three weeks; July 20th, August 1st (Full Super Moon) and, last one on August 5th. By that time, we should be able to resolve the concerns that are impacting us today.

Mars ingressed Virgo on July 10th. Mars is not considered to be as active when moving through Virgo, but that does not mean that it is low-energy. Today, in particular, Mars is moving over a critical degree of Virgo, causing us to feel considerable discomfort. In truth, it all boils down to perception. The irritation is ours, alone, to deal with. Mars' opposition to Saturn retrograde in Pisces is likely to tinge our perspectives with resentment. Try to push that aside so that we enhance our ability to move past the blockages we are feeling. Some of us may simply muddle through with Mars' energy levels this month. But the next new moon is going to give us more clarity, and hopefully, direction, with the help of Mars.

Jupiter in Taurus is still sextile to Saturn's retrograde motion in Pisces. That means that we are still working on finding those key components to success. Don't give up hope, but don't expect them to simply fall into our laps. It's going to involve extra work.

We are still feeling unbalanced as this new moon, similar to the last full moon, only has two planets transiting through masculine signs. There are eight planets in feminine signs, indicating that we are more comfortable looking within ourselves for assistance, rather than reaching outwards to others. We are biding our time to find the right moment to burst out of our shells. This can contribute to feelings of insecurity, the longer it takes us to emerge, because we start to feel as though we are missing something important. The significant aspect of this is that we recognize that we are in control here. We are making decisions, even if the decision is to "wait" a little longer. But, in this new moon, it is time to start to think of new ways to move forward from this point.
