The new moon in Leo has the potential to bring out some of our best traits, as long as we tamp down on jealousy and guilt feelings. We tend to feel more generous, but at the same time, need to let go of expecting a payback for our generosity. We need to let "gifts of love" be one-sided offers, and if we can't do that, then we need to just not give the gift in the first place. The moon's conjunction to the Sun sets us on a new path for the month. The new moon sextiles to Jupiter and Mars in Gemini are helpful in getting us motivated to step into new ideas or, at the very least, let go of old ideas.

Mercury in Virgo, is preparing to retrograde motion in a few hours, moving back into Leo in a few days while motioning retrograde until August 28. Mercury's conjunction to Venus will last a few extra days as Venus prepares to move into Leo. Use caution when expressing ourselves, as Venus on the Anaretic degree of Leo, and Mercury's retrograde can mess with the meaning. Either we say it wrong, or we hear it wrong. Either way, annoyances are likely to impede on our communications.

Venus is inconjunct (quincunx) to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. This could be a dream event gone wrong. We may have set the bar too high, setting the stage of a complete social meltdown. Also, Venus is square to Uranus in Taurus. There is the potential for sudden shifts in our safety and welfare. Try to plan ahead, especially if we have advance notice of any storms, or other types of events that could send us scrambling for safety. If traveling, pack a few extra supplies, for that just in case scenario. Venus is forming an out of sign inconjunction to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. We may be able to move through this one a big easier by relying on instincts and natural talents. If we have been practicing for unusual events, we will likely have this one covered.

Jupiter in Gemini is square to Saturn retrograde in Pisces. Either Jupiter expands on current challenges we are facing, or what we thought was solid, turns out to be more like quicksand. We need to be able to adapt quickly to make the most out of the day.

Uranus in Taurus is sextile to Neptune retrograde in Pisces, and an out of sign trine to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius. These three planets, being outer planets, speak more to the shifts in generations and cultures, and less to us, individually. Oh, it still impacts us, with wake up calls and rude changes in social norms, but we may miss the subtle messages that have the most meaning for us, until some point in the future.

All in all, and similar to the last full moon's chart, the alignments are fairly balanced, with the exception of the Cardinal quality signs. We may not want to be in positions of leadership or power, as there are many who will refuse to follow, or many who simply don't share our visions on the same level. With this new moon, we need to try to stay more grounded in the present, and let the future visions take a rest. Don't give up on our goals. Remember that we can accomplish more by staying on the track we have established already.
