Sun is Virgo, 4° 04'
Moon is Virgo, 4° 04'
The new moon in Virgo awakens us to the new tasks at hand. Since this new moon is on a critical degree of the chart, we feel a sense of urgency to accomplish something. What do we need to do to help make life better for ourselves? Virgo rules over our health, our working environment, along with organizing and production. If we have any planets in the sign of Virgo, we know that there's also a pickiness about how these areas in our lives are handled. We can become a bit perfectionist and a bit judgmental about how it is done. The Moon's conjunction with the Sun in Virgo adds a layer of emotional baggage to the day. We tie our feelings to the actions. This can become taxing and weigh us down if we don't compartmentalize our emotions. The new moon is square to Mars in Gemini. This ties our energy levels into our actions of the day. It also has the potential to interfere in our work outs or inhibit our ability to release pent-up emotions through our usual means. We may need to become creative to release our energies. It might involve activities like singing and dancing rather than jogging, hiking, or driving, or whatever our usual release might involve. In other words, make a change in our approach in order to get some relief.
Mercury is in Libra, still in direct motion, and is trine to Mars in Gemini, while almost making a Kite pattern with connections to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Pluto and Mars are too far apart, and out of sign for the complete Grand Triangle portion of the Kite. But Mars forms a sextile to Jupiter retrograde in Aries, while Pluto forms a sextile to Neptune retrograde in Pisces, pushing all four connection back into Mercury. Mercury can handle it, being strong with communication and organization, but can we? We will need to dust off our skills to coordinate our events for the next day or two. Making lists and journaling can help us to sort through it all.
Another significant aspect pattern in today's chart comes through Venus. Venus in Leo, opposes Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, and both are square with Uranus retrograde in Taurus. We may find that the person we thought we were strongly attracted to is now pushing on our last nerve. We may struggle to keep from speaking our minds. Perhaps this is the day where we need to speak up and voice our feelings about something that has been annoying. Remember to do it in a way that is safe and measured. If we are in a volatile situation, this is the time to find safety before speaking our minds, considering that Venus is also forming a T-square with the Nodes. There may be a karmic connection tied to our personal safety needs.
For the most part, this new moon has balanced placements throughout the chart. There are an equal number of masculine and feminine placements, helping us to be aware of our internal and external needs. The qualities of cardinal, fixed and mutable placements are well balanced, helping us to stay motivated and grounded in our ideals or our projects. The one area that we might suffer is in our adapting methods. We may struggle somewhat in finding new solutions to troubling situations. There is only one planet in the water element. With four planets in the earth element, there is the potential for us to feel stuck. It can cause us to think we have no options, when in truth, the options have changed, and it is time for us to explore the best option for the moment.
