The new moon just after the September equinox is in Libra and tends to be an optimistic new moon because it is ruled by Venus. Even though the new moon is opposing Jupiter retrograde in Aries, we may not feel as though this is a difficult opposition, as Jupiter is feeling more restrained while in retrograde. So we may not even notice this today. At most, we may feel like we made some poor choices, but mostly this is at the superficial level, and we can easily regroup to get back on track. Libra new moon is a time to evaluate partnerships and matters that impact us within the laws of the government. Signs Aries through Virgo are focused more on our inner strengths and personal needs, while Libra through Pisces focus more on our connection to others. We are now on the second half of the zodiac year, as the Sun is moving through the "other half" of the zodiac. The half where, Mine is also Yours, portion of the signs as we negotiate and compromise for the overall good of all, and not focusing so much on ourselves now. Like the top half of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. We are at the "Love and Belonging" level, when the Sun moves into Libra as we finally begin to strive for self-actualization.

Mercury retrograde was conjunct with the Sun for a hot minute yesterday. Don't know if many of us even felt it, but it occurred while the Sun was moving into Libra and Mercury was moving back into Virgo while opposing Jupiter's position in Aries. Events were likely to be troublesome while we worked to sort through them in order to proceed with the day. Most likely, we didn't even realize the fact that Mercury and Jupiter retrogrades were toying with us. By today, most of us have the issues resolved, found a reasonable solution, and have moved on. However, if we are stuck on yesterday, today is a great time to shake it off.

Mercury retrograde in Virgo is conjunct with Venus, while opposing Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Think of this one impacting our health. Potential do overs on medical labs or evaluations. Or involving large institutions that are telling us what we can, or cannot do. Wait a few days before pushing back and asking for a "RE"evaluation of the decisions or reports. Mercury will finish its retrograde motion in Virgo on October 2.

Venus and Mercury are also trine to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn forming a wedge with Neptune. Pluto is reminding us that there are different versions of authority, and to make good choices in how we deal with them. It is interesting that in the world news this week, women in Iran are pushing back on the Patriarchy of their government, controlling how they must look, or suffer the consequences of the government. We are seeing some of that here, too, in the US, that wants to take away certain privileges that women had for many years. As if women don't have the ability to make their own decisions at the same level that men can. When Venus and Pluto interact, we tend to feel these decisions more strongly. Remember, Pluto is not enforcing these changes, but is highlighting that changes of attitudes come with taking risks.

Mars in Gemini is trine to Saturn retrograde in Aquarius, and Saturn is square to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. Think in terms of personal security and materials that are being impacted by our organizational networks or connections, and our personal communications within situations might be coming across as overly assertive/aggressive. We may need to rethink our positions, work with others in order to accomplish our objectives but also find some compromises in the process.

While there are some rough spots within the Libra new moon, we should be able to successfully accomplish many things. There is a nice balance of Masculine and Feminine receptive placements. The weakened elements during this new moon being the Fire and Water elements, but still enough solid footing for us to make productive decisions and adjust as needed without losing the balance. Those individuals we encounter who are normally "stick in the mud" types, are more receptive during this new moon. Take the opportunity to pitch them a new idea and see what comes from it.
