Things are likely to be falling back into place after the past month of eclipses, while the Sun and Moon join up in Scorpio. The new moon of Scorpio is always intriguing, as it tends to bring out a new awareness of ourselves that we tend to keep hidden, or at best, tightly cocooned within our psyche. The sign of Scorpio is typically a time of introspect as well as a time of extrospection. We need to assess situations around us that may not be of our own making. The new moon is conjunct to Mars in Scorpio. Mars is right at home in Scorpio, helping us to explore with a sense of self assurance. Unlike Mars' transit through Aries, the other sign it rules over, there are more psychological facets to Mars' rule over Scorpio. Mars can lean towards jealousy and possessive traits, yet there is a strong intuitive tendency, giving us the ability to see through the fakeness. The stellium in Scorpio is forming a trine to Neptune retrograde in Pisces and an opposition to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. This wedge of five planets is blending together all these energies for the day. Our emotions may swing back and forth, causing us to wonder what is the correct option. The fixed water energy of Scorpio can be really tricky. It is not so easy to simply "Flow" but that is exactly what we need to attempt to do. In other words, rather than assume we know anything for fact, we may need to explore other perspectives.

Mercury has pushed into Sagittarius, and is currently moving over a critical degree. Our brain is working hard to sort through all the beliefs, values, and cultural meanings that we are moving through at this time. We may want to ignore facts that don't feel comfortable. If we do, we are likely to misunderstand the true meaning that should be associated with subjects that are bubbling up in our lives. Mercury is sextile to Venus in Libra and square to Saturn in Pisces. The sextile should bring out our artistic talents while we worry about matters that we have very little control over. Use Venus' influence to move past situations that have the potential to cause depressive thoughts from Saturn's placement.

Neptune retrograde in Pisces and Uranus retrograde in Taurus (currently transiting over a critical degree) continue to be moving lock-step in a sextile. We have our ideals set in motion, but may not be in alignment with what the Universe has decided we need. The ultimate decision comes down to whether we yield for our own good, or do we resist the Universe, and forge out on our own path. Pluto's sextile to Neptune will shift its vibration in January, when Pluto moves into Aquarius, but the sextile will continue on, pushing us to move out of our outdated values and gradually solidify us into new ones.

This new moon is heavy with feminine receptives. Avoid the inclinations to act like a doormat, but don't go overboard with the drama if someone confronts us with their own desires that don't line up with ours. We don't need to change our personality to fit with someone else and we don't need to act offended when presented with another's baggage. The Modalities of Cardinal and Mutable can be melded to counteract the five Fixed sign placements so that we don't come across as a stick in the mud. But, the truth is that with three Earth Elemental placements combined with five Water Element placements, we might be leaning a bit heavy on the verge of emotional meltdown or psychological remorse for past actions. Acceptance of the past while finding motivation for change in the future, might be the best we can hope for during this Scorpio new moon.
