Sun is Sagittarius, 4° 03'
Moon is Sagittarius, 4° 03'
The new moon in Sagittarius can feel like a "break free" moment as we start to move past some of the drama. Now we have time to explore new ideas and gain new knowledge. It may not change our opinions, but it feels like a release to just allow our minds to wonder and/or wander. During the new moon, the Sun and Moon are transiting over a critical degree of Sagittarius that typically accentuates optimism and even the possibilities of a utopian philosophy. There can also be a sense of uneasiness with the day, depending on some other aspects in today's chart. There are no other aspects involving the new moon today.
Before exploring the rest of this chart, it should be noted that the next new moon in Capricorn will be an annular solar eclipse on December 26.
Mercury, still in Scorpio, is moving through the shadow from the recent retrograde motion. Mercury will move beyond the shadow on December 7th. Today, Mercury is sextile to Saturn in Capricorn and trine to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Mercury's transit through Scorpio is frequently described as a "speak it with truth" transit. Adding in the Saturn and Neptune connections can help us to organize our thoughts while also intuiting what others are thinking. This can be a very creative time of analyzing situations.
Venus just ingressed Capricorn earlier today, while it has been transiting out of bounds (OOB) which adds intensity and instability to its ingress. We will be adapting to the new influence that ties our desire for status and recognition to our needs for safety and security. Vulnerability will be an area that we want to protect and not expose. Venus will move back inbounds on December 13. Today, Venus is sextile to Mars in Scorpio, waxing out of a conjunction to Jupiter in Sagittarius, and is trine to Uranus retrograde in Taurus, tying the planets together with a wedge pattern. This can feel like a crazy mix of fun with those that you love and trust, or a crazy mix of ambush and fear if surrounded by those who ignore our boundaries. At this time, there is a thin line between safety and vulnerability with Venus.
Mars ingressed Scorpio on November 19, which is a sign that Mars rules. There is an assertive and forceful influence when Mars transits Scorpio. It is not intended to be destructive, but seeking of respect. There is a power-drive here that some may fear. It is an influence that needs to be utilized with caution and valor, so as to not unintentionally create distance by those we are attempting to draw closer to us. Mars is forming the opposition to Uranus retrograde in Taurus that ties together the wedge pattern with Venus and Jupiter.
Jupiter is close to the anaretic degree of Sagittarius and on December 2, Jupiter will ingress the sign of Capricorn. For those who have benefited from Juipiter's transit through the sign of Sagittarius (the sign it rules), there's not much time left to enjoy that influence. The shift into Capricorn may feel a bit rocky until Jupiter adapts to the new territory that is ruled by Saturn. The Personalized Jupiter in Capricorn report is currently on sale for a limited time.
Saturn in Capricorn keeps inching towards a conjunction with Pluto. We struggle to abandon useless behavior, while, at the same time, maintain a feeling of control over our lives. We feel this both at a collective level and a deeply personal level. Plus, Saturn's sextile to Neptune in Pisces has us trying to clean up life matters behind the scenes that we don't want others to know about.
The minor planet, Chiron, continues to transit retrograde in Aries. It will station direct on Dec 12, 2019. Venus is forming a square to Chiron, which might cause us to feel even more vulnerable as we try to comprehend the nature of our psychological wounds. This may be a good day to seek out help if we notice that we are being re-traumatized by the memories.
In a day, Uranus in Taurus will be the only major planet transiting retrograde. This final retrograde transit will last through January 10, 2020. Neptune will station direct on November 27 in Pisces.
The majority of the planets are transiting through feminine receptive signs, which tends to encourage us to value community and responsibility towards others. There are no planets in the Air signs. We may feel driven to start projects, but lack the motivation to actually initiate them. We may not be quite as intellectually prepared to make decisions in our own best interests. We may be tied to old beliefs that are no longer effective in our current lives. Thankfully, the planets are evenly distributed in the qualities of the signs that help us to find other ways to cope and thrive. Be open to new ideas which this new moon in Sagittarius is encouraging us to explore.
