Sun is Aquarius, 27° 08'
Moon is Aquarius, 27° 08'
This solar eclipse is partial and will be visible over southern South America and Antarctica. In terms of this saros series, 150, the eclipse stage is fairly new, having its first eclipse in the series in 1729. That new moon was in the first degree of Scorpio, meaning that the subsequent eclipses are likely to have a hint of Scorpio flair and perhaps a bit of intensity, too. There will be a total of 71 solar eclipses in this series, ending in the year 2991. Solar eclipses are always during the new moon, and in order to view them, we need to wear special protective eyewear (not sunglasses).
This solar eclipse is in the sign of Aquarius, with the Moon and Mercury conjunct with the Sun. Our thinking might be a bit detached from how we normally think, but that's a good way to problem solve, as we are having a different perspective to the situation. We may not hit on the right solution right away, but our creative process may ultimately help us work through the problem. The eclipse stellium is square to Jupiter in Scorpio, adding some challenge to our vitality for the week. Don't be in a big rush to get there, wherever we are headed. The stellium is sextile to Uranus in Aries, adding some more interesting objectives for us to navigate. Look inward for the patience.
Venus in Pisces can be quite the watery romantic. Yesterday was Valentine's Day, and there is the possibility that some of that romance will spill over into today. Venus is sextile to Saturn, adding a nice foundation for our interpersonal relationships. It may also help with our funding issues.
Mars in Sagittarius is square to Neptune in Pisces. Still no retrograde planets, and we can actually kick our imagination up a notch by cleaning out the clutter. If we don't clean it out, it will bog us down.
Jupiter in Scorpio is sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. Remember a few months back, when Jupiter was square to Pluto? Well, think back on those challenges, and use this opportunity to open new doors.
This eclipse not all that bad, as far as the planets' alignments go. There's some balance, some challenge and some creativity thrown in together to allow us to make the most of the transitional experience that always comes with a solar eclipse. This eclipse will give us the opportunity to either do it alone, or to forge connections that help us to be a better team player. It is up to us to decide how to use the day.
Don't forget, this new moon (eclipse) is the Chinese New Year.
