Sun is Taurus, 10° 28'
Moon is Taurus, 10° 28'

This is the second new moon in April for most of us, and is also a partial solar eclipse. This eclipse will be visible (somewhat) from the South Pacific islands and portions of South America. This is the first eclipse of the 6th node family, belonging to solar saros series 119. The new moon eclipse is in the sign of Taurus as the moon partially obscures the rays from the Sun. Remember to wear proper eye protection if you get the chance to see the eclipse. Sunglasses are not sufficient. Solar eclipses tend to inspire change in our lives. If our lives are not changing, one way or another, then we may not be adapting to the influences of the eclipse, and ultimately, something is likely to explode in a way that we did not anticipate. Most of us have been feeling this influence for the past few weeks, and just now starting to decide what to do with it.

The new moon in Taurus reminds us to be more protective of ourselves, our loved ones, and our property. This new moon is conjunct with Uranus with the potential for finding new opportunities or creating our own. Our natural talents are likely to shine. The new moon is forming a sextile to Mars in Pisces.

Mercury has moved out ahead of the Sun and just moved into Gemini, meaning that it is right at home with the Gemini influences. We are more curious about situations now, and may end up being scolded for being too nosey. We tend to ask more questions even if it makes others uncomfortable. Mercury is forming an out of sign sextile to Jupiter and Venus in Pisces. Mercury is also forming an out of sign trine to Pluto in Capricorn. Relationships, finances, communication, are likely to become more complex with Pluto's spin on "deep thinking." We may over analyze matters that have us perplexed. Don't be surprised if others push back with alternative ways of thinking. We can either push back, or be willing to explore them. A lot will depend on our natural traits of interacting. Just don't be surprised if tempers flare, no matter which course of action we take.

As already mentioned, Venus and Jupiter are together in Pisces, and both are close enough to Neptune to form a stellium conjunction. We may struggle to understand the meanings of strange dreams, but also unusual interactions with friends and family. Patience is our best option. On the other hand, make certain to make safe choices. Don't stay in situations that put our health and safety at risk during this eclipse period. We may not be realizing that we are not safe until it is too late. A lot of the warning signs that would seem "obvious" may not feel so obvious at this time.

This new moon eclipse is encouraging us to step into new, and safer, options for ourselves with the focus literally being on the self. The majority of the planets are placed in feminine receptive signs. We are more aligned with taking care of our needs so that by the time the lunar eclipse occurs in two weeks, we can reach out to help others. There is only one planet in a Cardinal sign, which usually indicates that we don't need to be assertive in order to make changes. That we can make changes within, in order to help us make the right choices as they open up to us.

Meditation for the April 30th Solar Eclipse
Ego massage is a pleasant pasttime, but hardly the most rewarding.
