Solar Eclipse

Sun is Virgo, 9° 21'
Moon is Virgo, 9° 21'

This solar eclipse belongs to the solar saros series 135 from the 19th nodal family. The annular "ring of fire" eclipse starts over southern Atlantic Ocean, moves over Gabon, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, peaks over Tanzania, heading off over northern Madagascar and ends over the Indian Ocean. This is a new moon in Virgo with the energies being more intense due to the eclipse. Virgo wants us to be aware and conscientious about our actions. Try to avoid becoming too critical about others, as perceptions are usually only felt through the lense of the observer, while others have their own perceptions of the event.

This new moon is forming a t-square with Mars and Saturn in Sagittarius and Neptune retrograde in Pisces. The frustrations are likely to boil over if we don't stand back or, better yet, walk away. We may feel blocked in by others who disagree with us. In truth, it's not so much about disagreement as in not being able to understand, which is actually scarier than the feelings of disagreement.

Mercury is in the last degrees of Virgo, which stationed retrograde on August 30. The retrograde motion will last until September 22. We may discover that our best laid plans are not so well laid, as we end up needing to do everything two or three or even four times, before we get it right. Mercury is forming a conjunction with Jupiter and we may find ourselves being a bit too preachy with our opinions. Mercury is also forming a loose conjunction with Venus in Libra, however this should have less impact with our interactions, as there is likely to be more like a disconnect than unification of attitudes here.

Jupiter is finishing up the Virgo transit. On the 9th of September, Jupiter will ingress Libra and we will need to regroup at that point. We are likely to go overboard with the whole give peace a chance giving up our positions for more harmonious surrounding. This transit can sometimes cause us to become too complacent in our focus. We may forget to assert our values, which we became comfortable with as Jupiter was in Virgo.

With the solar eclipse in Virgo, we become very aware of our inner needs and how to take care of them, but we may not be so well attuned to the needs of others. With only one planet in the Air element signs (Venus in Libra) we may not verbalize our needs as well as we could. Also, with eight planets in mutable qualities, with many placements tied to the t-square pattern, we may feel challenged to find ourselves within the change that is being expected from us during this Eclipse. Change does not need to occur today, let the transits of the next few weeks give us more direction, before deciding what is best.
