Sun is Aquarius, 13° 04'
Moon is Leo, 13° 04'

The Full Moon in February is commonly referred to as the Snow Moon, however, other tribes had different descriptions, like the Hungry Moon, the Bear Moon, and even the Groundhog Moon. Which is quite apt considering we are celebrating Groundhog's Day tomorrow.

With the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo, we are working through friendship and intimate relationships that are perplexing for a variety of reasons. On the plus, we start to feel safer as we find our people, the people with like minded ideology. We are exploring different ideas and strategies in order to strengthen our alliances.

Mercury and Venus in Aquarius are conjoined to give us creative thinking on projects that we may have grappled against while trying to move through. Until now. New ideas are likely to open up to us. Venus is forming a quincunx (inconjunct) to Jupiter retrograde in Cancer. We may balk a bit with finding solutions at home and with our emotional ties, but consider these productive struggles, as we are forced to rethink how to approach the challenges.

Mars and Pluto are also conjunct in Aquarius. Yes, this makes five planets in the sign of Aquarius during this full moon. To use this combination effectively is to have a plan that we can stick with to the end. One plan, not a bunch of plans. Find the one that feels most important and work through the logistics to make it useful and effective for well into the future.

Saturn in Pisces is still sextile to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. Sudden shifts in our perceptions, both from activities beyond our control, as well as internal realizations. Working through these takes time and effort on our part. Some of us will work harder to ignore the facts, while others will feel tormented by them. The key is to find a middle ground that allows for grace and acceptance for our prior beliefs or ignorances, and vowing to be more open for the future truths.

Neptune has moved back into Aries and forming an in sign sextile to Pluto in Aquarius, again. This helps us to feel as though we can make a difference now. That we have the ingenuity and sincerity that we were experiencing last year, during April, May and June. The key is to keep it real. We may want to lean into the fantasy or the unrealistic because the reality feels too harsh. But, that undoes the perks of this Neptune and Pluto aspect. Keep it real. Be strategic.

This full moon chart has its challenges, similar to the last new moon due to an imbalance of planetary placements. Although, not quite as destabilizing as the last new moon, we are continuing to experience troubling thoughts and images that are forcing us to realign our values and prior beliefs. We go through these experiences with anger, or sadness, or frustration that we can no longer assume that our prior knowledge was valid. The disparity of the planets in receptive (masculine/feminine) signs, pushes us to react more openly and visibly. The single Earth Element placement being Uranus retrograde in Taurus does little to bring a sense of unifying calm. The strong standing of planetary placements in the Fixed sign Qualities, may encourage us to stay the course, what ever that course might be. For some, it will mean to ignore what we are seeing or experiencing, but for others, it will be to continue to push back and battle against, what feels like, repression. Remember, Aquarius encourages us to unite and find like minded people to unite with. The fixed mode is not necessarily a stuffy do nothing quality.

In two weeks, there is an annular Solar Eclipse (Ring of Fire Eclipse) that will be visible over portions of the Antarctic. The weeks leading into an eclipse are defining the challenges and changes we are likely to navigate. This new moon eclipse is also the start of the Lunar New Year, aka Chinese New Year, bringing in the year of the Horse. Ironically, it is also Fat Tuesday, the lead in to Easter. Safe to say, it will be a significant event.

Meditation for the February 1st Full Moon
The mind not only comes with a personal computer, but also with a modem for connecting the rest of the Universe.
