The solstice for December 2025 is on the cusp of Capricorn, with the Sun leaving Sagittarius one day after the new moon. The December Solstice is the start of the Winter season in the northern hemisphere, the shortest day of sunlight of the year, and the Summer season in the southern, with the longest day of sunlight for the year. Several of the aspects to the Sun in Capricorn are from planets placed out of sign, which are never as significant as when the placements are "in sign," meaning that they following the patterns of alignment by sign and significance. As such, the square aspects to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces plus the inconjunct to Uranus in Taurus exist, but there is really no need to address them. The Sun is forming a conjunction to Mars in Capricorn, and that generally brings up some aggression or brings us into encounters that feel chaotic. This time of the year typically, especially as the New Year is arriving soon, has us thinking about our goals and objectives for the future. We tend to think in terms of moral responsibility. This can be a good time to take responsibility for inappropriate past behaviors, while making amends to those we harmed in the process. This all ties into our social reputation that Capricorn always highlights, whether we accept it, or not.

Venus, in Sagittarius, is also forming squares to Saturn and Neptune in Pisces, along with the inconjunct to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. These Sagittarius connections are in sign, which can bring challenges to us relative to the Venus facets of our lives. Typically, Venus brings up financial, personal relationships, and aesthetics that need to addressed. Venus in Sagittarius can tend to have us setting our ideals at a higher level than usual. While that's admirable, it sometimes takes an unrealistic turn and sets us up for failure. If we want to experience more success in these areas of our life, we will need to take off those rose-colored glasses and take the time to tune in to factual circumstances, avoiding the fantasies or the hoped-for outcomes. In other words, especially considering Saturn's aspect, we need to do the work necessary and avoid taking fanciful risks, if we want productive results. The connection with Neptune may try to cloud our perspective, which, of course, is what we need to take the time to avoid, or ignore, while Uranus retrograde's challenges are prone to sudden epiphanies, especially during this time of the year. But, we need to be mindful to use our best judgments, as well, to balance knowledge with actions.

Jupiter retrograde in Cancer is trine to Saturn in Pisces, signaling that we need to be more cautious in our choices this season. We can use the next few months to observe and explore, in preparation for the future. This alignment is reminding us to do our "due diligence" to find better options.

Saturn and Neptune's sextile aspects to Uranus retrograde in Taurus are also giving us some ultimatums and expectations. Finding ways to delegate and operate as a team helps us to avoid unexpected surprises. A team (or partnership) that has not created a trusting relationship is likely to spend the next few months in a state of rebuild or, at the very least, redefining individual roles within the group.

The weak link this season will be demonstrated in a lack of spontaneous individual outcomes. We realize that our strengths are only as durable as the relationships that we have developed. This season will not work as well for us if we are trying to approach our lives as though we are a one-man band. We will need the support of many to achieve the objectives we have planned.
