Astrological Eclipse Family Six(6)
The Solar Eclipse of
October 13 / 14 (date is dependant upon the timezone) plus the Lunar
Eclipse of October 27 / 28, are the second part of the Eclipse Season
from the
astrology perspective. They belong to the 6th family of the 19 eclipse
groups that we follow through their cycles when eclipses are studied
from the astrological references. The previous 6 family occurred
in May, 2004. (create link to saros119.shtml)
The Solar Eclipse of
October 13 / 14 originated on March 6, 1049 from the Southern
Hemisphere and
this is its 54th eclipse of the series. It is identified as Saros
Series 124. The final solar eclipse for Series 124 is calculated to be
May 11, 2347.
The Lunar Eclipse of
October 27 / 28 originated on April 13, 1680 from the Northern
Hemisphere and this
is its 19th eclipse of the series. It is identified as Saros Series
136. The final lunar eclipse for Series 136 is calculated to be
June 1, 2960.
These eclipses will be followed by a new
series of eclipses in April 2005 from the 7th family of the eclipse
groups. To read more about eclipses, visit the Lunar Living Eclipse Page.
The combined
influences of the
Solar Eclipse in 21º Libra followed with the Lunar Eclipse in
5º Taurus should
be an interesting combination since Venus is the ruler for both Libra
and
Taurus. The Libra Solar Eclipse is in the third decan, adding an
intellectual quality to the energy, brings up the importance of
fairness and
justice within our interactions with others on a very personal plane.
Then the
Taurus Lunar Eclipse flows in with a earthy expression of emotional
stability.
Human interaction truly is the basis of this Eclipse series where
balance and
unity needing the most work when we discover that our personal
satisfaction is
lacking within our relationships.
Eclipses
always occur close to
Nodes, adding in the karmic effect to the activities. The original
Solar
Eclipse in the Saros series 124 was formed while the North Node was in
Virgo. The ongoing emphasis with the Eclipses within this series
would be
service to others and healthful traditions that focus on responsibility
for our
decisions as a means to balance the South Node in Pisces. The Lunar
Eclipse's
Saros series 136 originated with the North Node in Libra. Again,
bringing us
back to the Libra emphasis of harmony and unity. We
may find that we must learn how to
compromise gracefully or learn to accept the gifts from others without
minimizing the significance of the gift from the giver. Finding
the right
mix of togetherness and time for self expression that does not
overwhelm or
detract from our "self" or our "companion."
Notice that
the originating
Saros 124 was a strong Pisces chart. The Sun, Moon, Mercury
and
Venus were close together in the last half of Pisces. Mercury was in a
Retrograde motion at the time. Religious ideals may become
convoluted or
a religious leader may try to isolate his flock from the world in an
attempt to
protect them. Given that this eclipse originated in 1046, it is
not clear
whether the difficulty with the religious beliefs are perpetuated every
18
years or if new concerns with religion would be initiated every 18
years. The basic
problem may be a type of self-deception rather than others truly being
the
deceivers. The Pisces energy is the least aggressive of the
signs.
This influence can be used in either productive spiritual growth or as
a means
to retard our confidence. It can be difficult to discern who or
what to
believe. Since the energy of the original Eclipse carries over
into the
current Eclipse, we may find ourselves obfuscating the true needs of
our
relationships with unrealistic expectations.
The
originating Saros 136 in the
Lunar series reveals that the Moon was in Libra, meaning that the Sun
was in
Aries. This initial chart would appear to be the flip side of the
current Lunar
Eclipse. Like now, Saturn and Neptune were in similar locations in
Cancer and
Aquarius, respectively, in 1680. If you look at the Lunar Eclipse
charts below,
you get a feel for the polar, yet similar energies of the two charts.
It is not
unusual for Total Lunar Eclipses to have a climatic influence that can
precede
and supercede other events already in place. The Aries/Libra influence
of the
originating chart could indicate a change in the way we perceive our
leaders or
our partners. The October 27 Lunar Eclipse in Taurus may touch on our
own
insecurities as we wrestle with the complex issues of the situation in
deciding
how we want to proceed.
Solar Eclipses and Lunar Eclipses are each
unique, yet are tied to their originating Eclipses as though there are
genetic connections to their ancestors. The original influence of
the charts are perpetuated throughout the entire series which
lasts for hundreds of years. The charts
are similar to reading a person's natal chart in combination to the
current energies of the transits as life is occurring around us.
Because of this, each Eclipse radiates the energies differently. This
is what makes Eclipse Astrology so interesting. It is diverse, just
like each and
every individual in the world.
