Moon is Cancer, 8° 53'
As we unwind after that last Solar Eclipse during this holiday season, we might struggle to make sense of this past year during these final days of the year, 2020. The full moon is not as helpful as it should be.
The final full moon of the year is the Cancer moon with the Sun in Capricorn. We are eager to make plans to prepare for the new year in a few days. The biggest problem is that the Sun, in Capricorn is forming a loose conjunction with Mercury while the Moon and Sun are forming a wedge to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. In other words, we are easily distracted or feel torn by other priorities. With this Wedge aspect pattern, there is a square from Uranus over to the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in Aquarius. Friends and organizations that we belong to may be pulling on us in unusual ways that cause us to move away from reliable resources. Are we being too frivolous? Are their expectations of us too flippant? Our behaviors during this full moon may come across as being a tad foolish.
Mercury is far enough into Capricorn to form a sextile to Neptune in Pisces. This can accentuate feelings of empathy, but only in those who don't stifle those feelings out of fear.
Then there is the square from Venus in Sagittarius to Neptune in Pisces. The talents that we have relied on in the past to carry us through rough patches are suddenly on the fritz. We can't seem to find the right outlet to help us with relief. Mental health may suffer during this end of the year full moon as we attempt to sort through our feelings and our values.
The other challenge with this full moon is the square from Mars in Aries to Pluto in Capricorn. This is the Life and Death challenge that we all try to avoid. While it may not literally be death, it is likely to feel like we are involved in a huge loss of something that we value.
Not at all helpful is the fact that the Moon is transiting Out of Bounds (OOB) in the Northern Declinations (past the Tropic of Cancer) which tends to cause us to feel insecure and vulnerable. If we end up experiencing a natural disaster or a personal accident of some type, the traumas are likely to linger longer than usual as the events seem to get imprinted on our brains in a way that we can't quite release. The best way through these events, is with a sense of control that we have rehearsed in the past. Sometimes, planning for tragedy is the best tool at our disposal.
Overall, the chart is not too out of balance. There are six feminine planetary placements to four masculine. There are two Fire, Air and Water placements to four Earth. And, there are three Fixed, two Mutable, and five Cardinal placements. If we can stop the worrying from taking control of us, we have all the necessary tools to plan, initiate, and implement change as needed.
