The new moon in Sagittarius tends to envelope us in feelings of positivity. But, not without some challenges. The new moon is square to Saturn in Pisces, Saturn is square to Jupiter retrograde in Gemini, and Jupiter is opposing Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius. However, Mercury is not forming a conjunction with the new moon, so this is not a T-square formation. On the other hand, it has some of the same types of challenges. It will feel like we are needing to start over again on some of our projects. That's not necessarily a negative. We may need to clear out some ideas from our original plan, in order to make the outcome suit us better. Mercury's and Jupiter's retrograde motions are troublesome in that the opposition of them will force us to redo, possibly in a big way, regardless prior plans.

Mercury's retrograde motion will be done on December 15, which will help give us at least a solid week of shopping for gifts for the holidays without so many mistakes in the process. Black Friday “sales” during a Mercury Retrograde brought its own types of challenges.

On a secondary positive note for this new moon, Mars in Leo is trine to the new moon giving us some extra enthusiasm for getting plans reworked.

Venus in Capricorn is trine to Uranus retrograde in Taurus, and Neptune retrograde in Pisces is creating a sextile apex in the middle. Sudden awareness of all types can keep us busy today. We may find out surprising news, or dream up some really unusual solutions to situations that had confounded us up to this point. Use this influence to our advantage to fix problems that we might have been avoiding because they seemed too complicated.

Overall, this new moon's chart is fairly balanced, giving us options and opportunities to explore. What might be our downfall is the minimal Cardinal placements. We may not feel motivated enough to explore all of them.

Pluto is in Aquarius now, for the long-range of its very slow transit. We will begin to see changes in society that move us out of the Capricorn ruled power traits and more into ideas that seem more for the good of the community. It's a slow process, but we will feel more inclined to join in with others now, rather than waiting to be told what we should be doing. Pluto's transit through Capricorn brought up some really challenging power dynamics to the world, and now Aquarius should open our minds to finding ways to either work with that power, or to remake it into something more useful for more people.
