Sun is Virgo, 28° 14'
Moon is Pisces, 28° 14'
This last full moon of the summer (season in the northern hemisphere) is also the Harvest Moon because it is close to the equinox. However, the Harvest Moon can also occur after the equinox. So it can be a bit tricky when the moon is 15 degrees Virgo or 15 degrees Libra to decide which one gets to be the Harvest Moon. The Autumn Equinox is on September 22. For the Southern Hemisphere, it will be the Spring Equinox.
As the Sun prepares to move over the equator, we will encounter the equinox feeling pulled in many directions. We have so many projects to complete as we head into the new season. It feels so much more intense with the Sun inching closer to the Anaretic Degree of Virgo. We're on edge as we feel like we are almost out of time. Here we are again, pushing into new territory while thinking we don't have a choice. That seems to be the nature of the mutable signs. Adapting and modifying, without really taking stock of what we have or where we want to be.
The full moon is forming a loose wedge pattern with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. The Sextile and the Trine add to our flexibility today. The best feature about this wedge is that we can regroup as needed without feeling like we are out of options.
The only Out of Bounds (OOB) declination transit this month has been from the Moon. Three occurrences actually, this month. The last OOB from the Moon was September 13 through 16. Two days after the 9/11 anniversary which tends to trigger all sorts of emotions, while the US struggles with deadly wildfires and deadly flooding/storms. As is typically mentioned, the OOB transits cause us to feel more vulnerable during these periods. The next OOB by the Moon will be September 27 through October 1.
Mercury zipping through Libra looks like it is just about ready to move into Scorpio (but it wont), which means that it is far enough ahead of the Sun at this point that a retrograde motion will be starting soon. September 27, is the date of Mercury's retrograde station. Mercury will not be leaving Libra at all for this retrograde transit. It will station direct (start moving forward again) on October 18, after the Sun has sufficiently passed by to force Mercury to work at catching up again. So be ready for some snafus with communication, travel, and potentially, any new purchases to trip us up over the next few weeks.
Mercury is trine to Jupiter retrograde in Aquarius, and square to Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. These two aspects are a double-edged sword since we want to show our intellectual superiority, yet at the same time, that may be what gets us into trouble with authority. We may be better served to stay under the radar. Mercury is also forming an inconjunct (quincunx) aspect to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Our true abilities may be masked or distorted in a way that others are not able to see us for who we really are. We will need to avoid pushing our agendas on to others, as we may only make matters worse at this time. In a day or two, we can chalk it up to the full moon, and move past any confusion more easily. Well, at least until the retrograde motion does a repeat.
Venus in Scorpio can be a tricky one, as we tend to feel more jealous of others, or because of others. We tend to want to blame someone for our feelings, but the reality is that the emotions are ours to own. This is a great time to explore why we feel this, as we are more willing to explore the psychological impacts of our emotions. Venus is square to Saturn retrograde in Aquarius. This adds to our emotional frustrations. We may feel blocked by the actions of another. Venus is opposed to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. This may contribute to spontaneous meltdowns, or cause us to feel the need to escape intolerable circumstances. It is crucial to determine the best outlets so that we don't end up harming ourselves or others.
Mars in Libra is likely to feel like a chill pill compared to some of the other placements. We may feel downright lazy. Look inward to find motivation and desires. We still need to release our energies through physical means, but we can find the fun in it when Mars moves through Libra. Mars is Trine to Saturn retrograde in Aquarius. This may reflect that we need to back off, or start over with activities that have hit a roadblock.
As mentioned several times over the past few months, Pluto and Neptune have been forming a trine which can be confusing and frustrating in that they are "working together" but at what cost to our reality. Pluto's role is to undo and rebuild, while Neptune's role is to obfuscate and mystify. Our dreams are impacted, especially with Neptune in Pisces. We tend to make false assumptions and even the most detail-oriented of us can feel the confusion, as the facts are not so clearly defined. On the other hand, Pluto, in Capricorn, has been gradually severing our ties to the old, outdated, and useless ideas of power and tradition, while gradually serving up new concepts that we find perplexing and foreign to our values. To what end? The whole purpose is for us to change into something better than we were, collectively. The chaos comes from resistance to change. Yet at the same time, those that change too quickly, may discover that they changed for the wrong reasons. The lessons of Pluto and Neptune are never easy.
All in all, this full moon may feel a bit off kilter. There are more feminine receptive placements than masculine, which indicates that we will do better if we approach problems with a patient and nurturing focus. There are no Fire Element placements in this chart. We may not feel too motivated to start new projects, which is likely, just as well. We should finish off the ones we started and clean up before starting new ones. We are helped in this area with the balance of Modality placements that can keep us on task, while pushing us forward.
