Sun is Libra, 20° 14'
Moon is Aries, 20° 14'
This full moon in Aries is the Hunter Moon as we head deeper into the fall season in the northern hemisphere. It is always the first full moon after the Harvest Moon. It is interesting that the Sun's transit in Libra and the Moon's transit in Aries is also known for seeking peace and harmony with others and life in general, while dealing with aggressions and assertions. This can be known as a time of controlling micro and macro aggressions. For example, using the concept of the Hunter's Moon. We know that many feel that hunting animals is less than peaceful, but as the Native Americans were more hunter-gatherer than farmers, they found ways to balance this form of hunting for survival. The belief was to not take more than was needed for the immediate future. The ideas of stockpiling or hoarding for extended survival is different type of strategy as a method to survive. Not that either is right or wrong. The Libran traits of fairness and equality may need to take precedence during this full moon, to bring the most benefit to us as we head into the Scorpio new moon that will be forming a tight opposition to Uranus retrograde in Taurus.
For now, let's focus on this full moon which will bring us plenty to think about. The full moon's Sun/Moon opposition in Libra and Aries is forming a t-square to Pluto in Capricorn. We may feel the urge to try to control others in our lives, while at the same time, others want to control us. The simplest way to counteract this is to take control and responsibility for ourselves, and not play into the manipulations. The full moon is also forming a wedge (sextile/trine) with Jupiter in Sagittarius. We may feel torn between our values and our resources, our families and our friends, or our reality and our beliefs. It's a time to re-examine our roles with our needs to make the best decision of which path to take.
Mercury in Scorpio has moved past the conjunction it formed last month with Venus. Mercury is sextile to Saturn in Capricorn and trine to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. While we want to organize our decisions right now, Neptune's influence may scatter our thoughts and perceptions. We are likely to feel overwhelmed with too much information, having a difficult time sorting through it in an effort to make sense. Mercury and Saturn urge methodical research, while Mercury with Neptune urge intuition and gut decisions. How we choose to handle the information will determine our situation when the new moon arrives.
Venus is also in Scorpio and as mentioned, is not currently in conjunction with Mercury. However, as Mercury is starting to slow down as it prepares to station retrograde on October 31, Venus will gradually catch up with Mercury and will be back in conjunction soon enough. For today's full moon event, Venus is opposing Uranus retrograde in Taurus. If we recently looked into asking for a raise, or securing extra financial resources, this aspect may knock us back a bit, as something will likely occur that will undermine those resources. We may need to be more self-reliant for the next week or two. But if we are needing to sign papers to secure a loan, remember to get it handled before the end of the month or let it wait until the end of November.
Mars is now in Libra. If we are into minor aspect interpretations, Mars is forming an inconjunct to Uranus retrograde in Taurus. This can add some tension to the day.
Jupiter in Sagittarius is still forming a square to Neptune retrograde in Pisces. Promises, promises, promises. Enough said.
This full moon chart is actually more balanced than it may feel. It provides us more stability between feminine and masculine receptives which are fairly equal. There are no huge differences between the four elements, and although the planets are mostly collected in the cardinal modes, there are enough planets in fixed and mutable modes to keep us balanced and controlled.
All in all, we are able to make good use of the planetary placements for this full moon, as long as we remember to utilize the themes of Libra for the next few days.
Meditation for the October 13th Full Moon
Reflective thought can have as much influence on what happens around you as action can.
